Does Fitzgerald's term last beyond Jan 20 09?
Edited on Tue Jun-13-06 03:04 PM by SoCalDem
It might be remotely possible that Fitzgerald has an ace up his sleeve. Perhaps he has "reserved" the right to charge Rover at a later date.. Any charges now, would be met with a pardon from junior..

It would be delicious to see Rover charged after he could no longer be pardoned..

just sayin'

1. I don't think Fitz has a "term"
I think the delegation of authority is open ended. However, the current GJ has, I believe, an 18 month term, which will expire (I believe) around april of 2007.

2. Why would he say Rove is not under investigation...
if he was? Fitz could get in A LOT of trouble doing that. This is just another ridiculous theory cooked up to support our hopes that a bad man will get his just deserts. Please don't make a fool of yourself anymore.

that more might come out of the investigation, which continues. Fitzgerald may not have had enough to indict Rove now, but Rove is scheduled to testify in the Libby case, and there's a lot more ahead, than behind in this investigation..

To indict him on something he could wriggle out of would have been futile..

Sometimes the best thing to do is to keep feeding more rope....and eventually the "target" may end up hanging himself..

Karl's a chatty guy, and now that he feels exonerated, he may start to say stuff that could prove "helpful" in the future....and I don;t mean helpful to HIM..:)_

7. I would love that...
and maybe that is what happened. Remember it was Spiro Agnew who left before Nixon. What if Cheney gets it? LOL:rofl:

10. The only thing that bothers me is that DeadeyeDick
can "exit gracefully" anytime he wants.. All he has to do is to start feeling legal heat, and presto-changeo, his "heart" problems flare up and he retires in a blaze of glory and parties..

We will not see Cheney brought to "justice"..I am not counting on it at all.. He's in complete control of his departure..

4. I Wrote Last Friday Night That I Was Basically Bummed Out...
Got a lot of very nice replies with many suggestions. I did distance myself from minute to minute politics for a couple of days, didn't even watch Washington Journal or Democracy Now since then... but here I am again.

Having said that, I'm just going to have to SHUT DOWN for at least a week or TWO! I just can't take this stuff anymore. Was just reading about the Virginia elections and the low turn out they were reporting and it brought things front and center again.

What I said last Friday about people I've been talking to NOT wanting to even vote anymore and the fact that some of my like-minded political friends are simply wanting to give it up too may be a "bell-weather" of things to come. I'm trying NOT to think the "bad" thoughts, but we aren't getting anywhere. I wonder if we will for a long long time!

As far as the Rove thing goes... well it's just more of the same! These imbeciles have inroads EVERYWHERE and we are going to have to deal with it some way. Unless we are willing to get out there and REVOLT on a large scale, I think this just won't stop.

The economy is getting worse each day and it has begun to affect so many people I know. I just talked with my husband and told him...we BUY nothing we don't need! The RICH seem to have such a stronghold on EVERYTHING and I think the shit is going to hit the fan.

Maybe in a couple of weeks my perspective will change, I don't want to be a quitter. I don't really want to give up, but I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO! We need to get a massive movement going, but I don't know how to REACH even my representatives who are part of the cabal!!! I'm just plain tired of writing, calling, going to meetings of no consequence and signing petitions.

On vacation for now... I'm so glad I have a DISH, a pool to swim in and I live in walking distance to the beach. And I KNOW that's more than many others have... I consider myself lucky for these things.

Outta here!

12. Yep... It's THE Pits!
I have been watching a lot of Law & Order, good thing there are THREE different shows, re-runs you know! I'm trying with 4400 but it isn't keeping me amused for some reason. This is the show I thought would hook me, maybe I'll have to watch a few more shows. I do like Monk though, I have OCD myself! Oh, and I like HOUSE too, but I wonder if it's going to make it.

But there's plenty there... lots of movies, my husband HAD to get everything they offered, now I'm glad, even IF they keep raising my bill every month! It's better than what's going on politically.

13. The 4400 is a hard show to just pick up.. Try the video store
to see if the earlier season shows are available.. You have to know the back-story..It;s a very good show and worth watching.. Dead Zone is coming oout soon with a new season..

if you want to laugh like a loon.. catch the reruns of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia"..and watch for their new season..

and Weeds will be back on soon too.. I actually like summer tv better than fall..:)

I don't think there is a time limit, I think it's just that Fitz wants to get back to Chicago!
