Gitmo suicides on talk radio Monday June 12-- DRehm + a RW host

--David Rivkin was a guest on the DRehm Show. He said the prisoners at Gitmo are the best treated POWs in history; they eat very well, etc, etc, etc..... When challenged by a caller (that they are so well treated, etc), he said Geneva conventions did NOT apply to them b/c although they were enemy combatants they were not in uniform, etc, etc. IOW, he said they really aren't POWs and therefore everything he said about how their treatment compares to the historical treatment of POWs (especially in WWII) was rendered invalid. He basically followed the administration line; he even said that the suicides were a form of 'asymmetrical warfare', ie, a way to fight against an overwhelmingly superior force. Everything he said was just so disgusting, justifying everything we're doing there b/c we just such a nice and moral country that would never do anything wrong.

--GBeck (I think) basically repeated over and over that there is absolutely no evidence that there is any torture going on at Gitmo; anyone who claims otherwise is attacking our brave soldiers there and around the world who are giving their all in this historic war on terror.

I really think I do not live in the same world as these people....... I know I sure do not want to live in such an upside down immoral universe.
