I think the Jason Leopold affair has been a GREAT SUCCESS!

I mean, imagine this place if there had been no Jason Leopold story.....

There would have been organized campaigns to email, fax or write Congress and local papers.
Websites insisting on Rove's indictment would have appeared overnight.
We would be emailing the media en masse complaining about their biased coverage.

Instead, we spent the day fighting each other and an obscure lefty reporter.

The right wing and their moles are getting better and better. Here's to you, guys: :toast:

I would dare say that today we lost a HUGH number of people who thought the admin would be held to account for TREASON. This was another well-orchestrated job by Karl "Satan" Rove.

I think, given the power of the extreme right, Rove was always off the table. Oh, I'll bet Fitz gave it the ole college try, but Gonzales eventually blocked him.

This Leopold kid did everything wrong as a "journalist" that he claims to be. He embarrassed himself, while people on this site and at TruthOut embarrassed themselves by latching on to him so closely. When the story proved to be false, Leopold refused to apologize, or acknowledge any real mistakes or show any contrition. Others here at DU then made bizarre claims about the whole non-story being a Rove-inspired ploy to mislead Leopold/TruthOut with bogus sources. Please, I haven't had my coffee today.

This is one rare case where the conservative web boards have some justification in making fun of DU posters, I sorry to say.

Leopold and TruthOut are now in the same category as the quacks over at Newsmax and WorldNetDaily.

Why is TruthOut so esteemed? In the late '90s, Marc Ash was the most notorious, destructive troller on the Internet. I had lost track of him until recently. This Leopold fiasco is right down Ash's alley, but it might spell the blogger's waterloo.

10. Leopold was on Big Eddy's show today

Still standing by his story, but thinking that Rove cut a deal. Eddy was trying to dig out his sources, but got Leopold to say that his source or source was still sticking to the story.

Big Eddy then got on his big soapbox and tongue lashed Leopold for doing wrong. Big Eddy then went on a big rant and I found the off button again.

My new conclusion is that Libby and GFY will take the brunt of the investigation with Libby perhaps trying to stick a little sh*t back on rover. Near dead GFY will take his money and take his little pill before he does any time and the way will be clear for jebbie.
