Do journalists and anchors belong to a union?
I know actors do and so do lots of technical people in the communications industry.

1. most print journalists, if they're lucky, belong to the Newspaper Guild.
couldn't tell you much about broadcasters....I think they have their own union, and the techies do, too.

2. With newspapers
it varies from one paper to another. Some papers yes, others no. Typically editorial employees are represented by the Newspaper Guild. Pressroom and other employees generally have different unions.

4. Journalists' union
The biggest union for journalists is the Newspaper Guild. http://www.newsguild.org/
Most of the bigger papers are Guild papers -- New York Times, Washington Post, to name two of 'em.

6. Part Deaux of my question.
I was always given to understand that the communications industry was heavily unionized. So why the heck are these people always trashing efforts to organize by workers in other industries?

7. Cops are in a union
but that doesn't stop them from beating up strikers and enforcing the employers rules? Being in a union does not necessarily make the individual members more enlightenend about other workers--class and prestige still holds sway.
