Down with the Strategists! Up with the Idealists!
Learn from Al Gore. Stand up - be counted. Independent Counsel now! Why? Because it is the right thing to do when your President breaks the law! Filibuster! Why? Because it's the right thing to do when Bush tries to pack the court with right-wing radicals who believe in dismantling the Constitution!

To the Dry Powder Democrats - it's time! We see the whites of their eyes! Give me liberty or give me death! Damn the Torpedoes! Stand up and act like you represent the people of this country and a Constitution that has endured for over 200 years.

1. Indeed. So much for the bullshit "real politick" that got us in this mess.

2. How appropriate today
here's the quote:

Cowardice asks the question - is it safe? Expediency asks the question - is it politic?Vanity asks the question - is it popular? But conscience asks the question - is it right? And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular; but one must take it because it is right.-- Martin Luther King Jr

5. I thank you for that quote
I did not know it and will treasure it. It is a true measure of actions taken. I wish that it would be carved over the Senate.

3. I think people kind of got suspicious of "Romanticism" of any kind,
because they'd get so coked on the ideas that they'd lose site of Reality and things would get screwed up, so they became "Strategists" instead, when the Real problem is not that all Ideas are pipe-dreams, but which Ideas ARE Real and which are NOT.

Al Gore just reviewed for ALL of us which American Ideas are the REAL ones compared to the false ones that are being promoted.

4. It's also a matter of what kind of world you want, right?
The PNAC neoconservative fasacist wet dream is for THEM to rule the world with an in-orbit nuclear fist.

That ain't the world I want to live in.

They have their "ideals" I have mine. Theirs are the "ideals" of abject cynicism, mine are not.

6. You know . . . you're exactly right!
Given two Ideas of nearly equal Validity, the one that you desire is the most Real. This then would be the difference between "heaven" and "hell", "salvation" and "damnation".

Thanks for the input!

10. I agree. It's time to stop use cheap marketing strategies
and focus on great ideas. Nothing sells better than that.

The trouble is that too many politicians, especially Republicans, are too impressed with Hitler's mind control techniques.
