Should "christian" music be free to all who want it?
I think so!

Who would try to profit off of spreading the word?

9. Yes.. actually,
My band just recently opened for POD's founding guitarist's new band (the Accident Experiment), and I can assure you, at least in his case, christianity was not his main prioroty.

5. Do Christian musicans need to eat or have families to feed?
Then they should be paid for their work. I get so effing sick of crap like this. Would you question the right of indigenous spiritual healers in the mountains of Brazil to be paid for their works at sale in your local Target store?

6. Feeding off of the ignorant masses is a sin if there ever was one.
By pitching this shit out in the name of a Deity that promises health, wealth and a sweet afterlife for a profit is BELOW obscene,

Should Mariah Carey or any rock artist make money from their music? Have you ever heard of P.O.D.?

13. That was parody after the same was done twice in a previous thread.
And I am tired of people crying that they are being descriminated against in America when you can't throw a rock without hitting one of their "churches."

Critizing is fine and I could care less. Bashing is what you're doing in all these threads. Stop hating and grow up.

The "artists" are working, and deserve to be paid for what they produce just as any other employee.

calling those who listen to it "ignorant masses"

pitching out this "shit"

I think I've made my point quite well

and if you don't see it as bashing, then I don't know how to explain it further to you

16. Everything should be free...
But you have to do something to help in return.

A participatory society.

It's kind of hard to participate when employers overtly push people away.

Three threads of cavil? Find a hobby or discover your willie or do something with your life besides working so hard to prove evolutionists wrong.

Great word! As a semi-retired English major, I am happy to see it used!

Why does the topic of evolutionists arise in your post? Please explain, because I have not the help of the divine here.

23. You're reminding me of Ann Coulter here.
She thinks teachers shouldn't be concerned with making enough to live on, either. People who make a living in an artistic field, whatever it is (and no matter whether any given person likes their "art" or not) takes an enormous amount of work and dedication. You might as well ask whether a Playboy photographer should get paid, since he's getting all that free eye candy and "spreading the word" for the magazine's viewpoint.

18. philosophically or legally
philosophically I see your point. Legally (since I never got a chance to respond to the copywright thread), I think they should be subject to copyright as much as any other music should.

If they sell or not it's not up to me. If elvis wanted to make money let him, if he wants to give it away let him. I dont care one way or the other.

And it would always crack me up when people would post bible software or religous movies.

I would always pester them about Thou Shall Not Steal! :D

You want to discuss religion, there's a Religion and Theology forum. If you want to post repeat inflammatory posts, they get locked. Thanks for your understanding.
