So McCain's the Puke Choice for '08?
I heard that here somewhere. I say lets "Swift Boat Him". He's crazy, he wasn't really captured, he doesn't deserve his medals, he screwed a black prostitute, performed fellatio on * and his wife is a drug addict. Make up some flier's and let's sink him before he gets to the primaries. I like it.

1. He doesn't have the support of the
christian conservative type, because of his support for stem cell research. Moderates and independents like him but the pat robertson type makes up the biggest bloc within the GOP. I think the nomination will go to a guy like Sam Brownback.

4. I would have agreed with you several days ago
But now I think the corporations will get behind McCain. They can see that the white male small businessmen (like the pharmicist my husband goes to and the physical therapist that I know) are fed up with Bush. They are hungry for a president that they think will represent them. I am already hearing them talk up McCain. McCain would be a great candidate. BUT after he was in office, he would not stand up to the corporations. Look at how he campaigned for Bush. He will be a tool of the corporations, which is why the corporations (who control the media) will back him and do everything they can (which is very, very considerable) to get him in office. I am very afraid McCain will be our next president.

On the other hand, I have an optimistic personality and my hopes are pinned to Mark Warner of Virginia. I think he will make an outstanding moderate Democratic president. He will be so much better than McCain!

2. Or, we can just print fliers showing his voting record...
...and show the true face of McCain the rightwing Bushbot that he really is!

The corporate-owned rightwing media is propping this guy up like some "moderate"; using a few bills he's co-sponsored with the liberal Feingold, for example, as the vehicle of distortion to those Democrats and Independents who still think he's "not Bush".

His voting record alone would give them a wake-up call like pounding hangover!

3. No, they won't run him. He's not in the Family.
But, if they can get us to waste time and resources on him, they win.

5. Then let's "Swift Boat" whoever they get. Two can play that game.

7. If by SBing you mean attacking their "strengths", I'm in.
Like, Bush's supposed popularity. How popular can you be if OSAMA BIN LADEN makes fun of your polls?

On the other hand, peddling falsehoods is something the Thuggery does very well and I think we should leave that whole field to their expertise.

6. Nope.
They find him useful as a way of keeping moderate voters confused and in the party. But he will get swiftboated again in the primaries. What a tool.

18. Agree
He's not one of "Them." At least not enough. And IMHO they won't go for another stooge like His Chimpiness. If the repubs take it in 06 and 08 it's all over but the knashing and wailing.

8. He's way too much of a "loose cannon" for the right wing establishment
He might even bring the corporate money grab to a halt, so they'll ensure that he doesn't get anywhere near the White House.

9. His wife... I like him more and more
The GOP has lots of great liberals running in 2008 - Guliani / Pataki. I just don't want another neo-con president. McCain wouldn't be too bad.

I would still vote for Lieberman before McCain.

10. If it's McCain vs. Hillary, McCain will win
We might as well get used to the idea.

13. Yeah, & George Bush was going to lose in a landslide in 2004, too
Edited on Sun Jan-22-06 03:37 PM by mtnsnake
no matter WHO our candidate was.

I hope that asshole McCain runs. I think his running for president would be the best thing that ever happened to us. No way he'd win, IMO.

11. Silly you. IMHO they will run Jeb Bush for Prez and Condi Rice
as VP. Another Bush PNAC member, who will follow orders, and window dressing for the African American and female vote.

He'll run, that's for sure. I hope Rove et al. smear him again. The guy has to learn that he's lying down with dogs.

16. Is mccain a bible belt conservative though?
I think that's what Bush's base want in another pick is another bible thumper.
I also think that we shouldn't swift boat a veteran. Even one who is not on our side. Just my two thoughts on this.

17. For all McCain's faults, and there are many, he is
not with the right on key issues (environment, choice, stem cells, etc.).

They will never float him.
