I take issue with the media making a constitutional issue into a partisan grudgefest. Today, I have heard on NPR, ABC, and my local rock station's morning news broadcast that Bush and Repukes (blanket statement) are making a case for illegal wiretapping, while it is the Democrats (another blanket statement) that are rasing all the fuss about it. Based on what I read here and in other sources (WP, NPR, NYT--I think), there are also Republicans who think Bush has overstepped his bounds. Why can't they make it a societal issue, a constitutional issue, rather than turning it into partisan-bickering sound bites? I know I shouldn't expect anything else from the corporate-owned media, it's just not right. Maybe I'll start writing to the media and criticize them for their obvious bias. I just feel so inneffectual...
