1. Read the post from the St. Pete Times Editors
http://blogs.tampabay.com/buzz/2006/09/a_note_from_the.html

The La boy's emails where not "bad" it was the IMs that came out later that were bad.

3. The Emails may not have been “bad”

But they should have prompted further investigation which would have exposed Foleys behavior because the Emails definitely were inappropriate.

6. Hardly convincing...
when they throw in this bullshit:

"As we said in today's paper, our policy is that we don't make accusations against people using unnamed sources."

after having just done so.

4. Then they won't mind if we read them to the kids!
I'm repeating my comments from another post, because they are so appropriate to your thread.

5. Asking the boy to send a photo of himself should have set off alarms.
Unlikely the Repubs would have covered it up and called it "overfriendly" had a Democratic congressman been behind it.

8. The boy complained about the e-mails a year ago...
Edited on Mon Oct-02-06 09:10 AM by Flubadubya
That should have been enough to launch a serious investigation right then and there, period. If the boy complained that they were lewd, or even simply "unwelcome" then something should have been done about it quite forcefully right then.

This is B.S. about the "moral relativity" of specific e-mails. If the boy complained about the overtures from the man, then it was sexual harrasment THEN, not later! :eyes:
