I plan on voting for him, but he's little known out here. The hastert signs are 4x6 plywood boards and number plenty. But laesch's signs are fewer and far between. I tend to avoid our local paper (Beacon), because it's so biased, but I rarely if ever hear anything about him. And worse, the Beacon would sooner take a stake in the heart than to print something negative about Hastert.
Sadly, this is Red Country and Hastert is the King. The tides are changing though. Development is booming here, as people move further west in hopes of affordable housing, and room for their family to grow. With that comes many people from the city and more democratic voters in general. So, short of Hastert pulling out or resigning this time, I think we'll have to sit this round out - as much as I hate saying it.
That doesn't mean that we won't try :)
