Hastert is full of it. His claim that he didn't know anything is bogus.
As a former teacher, warning bells and sirens and flashing lights should have been going off all over the place for him and he should have removed Foley from t he committee assignment immediately AND initiated a rigourous investigation. Don't let that oink get by with this.

2. As is that crap
about him being glad Foley resigned or he'd have had to expell him. The deal was "quit now and keep your pension and bennies. Then go to rehab and help us try to get our asses outta your frying pan".
