Book of Daniel cancelled. AFA crowing like a rich hooker.
NBC caved (?) to pressure from aultr-religious bigots like AFA. Or did it?
I tried to watch the damned show, but found it lame and boring.
Still, these religious SOBs are celebating the death of western culture, as it were, and awaiting the rapture.

2. The show had lousy ratings.
Its 2-hour debut had disappointing ratings and the second episode dropped something like 36%.

I think the ratings killed it.

3. Too bad it wasn't a better written show. Then people might have watched it

8. Seems like it was trying to be like the cutting edge F/X shows
like "Nip/Tuck" or "Rescue Me." A couple of problems — those shows are much better written, and they can get away with much more since they're on cable (although no "F" word; it's only basic cable).

7. And that's not the worest...
Now the knuckle dragger's have some to beat their chest about, instead of working on real problems. New Orleans, etc...

9. Let 'em. Too bad they didn't complain more. Might have kept the viewership
up longer.

4. I wish the friggin' rapture would arive
Then maybe we can get back to actually having a western culture.

You're right, the show wasn't brilliant, though probably no worse than everything else on TV these days.

Now the fundies can turn their attention back to more pressing issues, like a constitutional amendment banning rational thought, or a repeal of the law of gravity, which they're sure gonna need for their stupid-ass rapture.

11. Odd that the AFA boycott of "Desperate Housewives" hasn't worked
Maybe because the ratings on that are just a little better than Daniel got?

18. I enjoyed the hell out of it, myself--the pill popping rev, his drinky poo
wife, pot selling daughter, horny adopted kid, gay kid, bi sister in law...and MALIBU JESUS dispensing advice while sitting in the front seat of the car! The Mafia Catholic priest was the icing on the cake!

They should have done it on cable, then they could have really taken the gloves off.

It was the first network show I have watched in eons. Alas, back to HBO, IFC and Sundance....ya only get what ya pay for I reckon.

17. If it had been a good show, I'd defend it.
I can't though - a shame the AFA will take credit for it's demise.

19. Maybe they caved, maybe they didn't. If the show had gotten decent rating
it wouldn't have been cancelled. The publicity didn't necessarily hurt the show--but I think the reviews I've read did. Most were pretty negative.
