4 soldiers killed today, 21 since Saturday - No mention from Couric
She did not report on it today or yesterday. She claims to report real news and not "fake news". Maybe she does not consider this real news. Brian Williams mentioned it during his broadcast - http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15124922/

After I post this I will be e-mailing CBS and Katie Couric - 21 soldiers dead and no mention. Do they not support our troops? What in the hell do they consider news. And what about the wounded, there is never any mention of the wounded and maimed. They DO NOT support our troops. Katie Couric DOES NOT support our troops. She would rather report on spinach.

If you're reading this post, please let CBS & Couric know that there's a war raging & our soldiers are getting killed & maimed. And ask her why she doesn't report this, & why she doesn't support our troops.

2. Katie does news..
....for people who don't want to hear the news. She ended with some story about Peter Pan, and her leadin was "the news has been grim so we're ending with a fairy tale". Christ, even Oprah is more politically aware than Katie Couric.

4. I guess she thinks if she buries her head in the sand long enough,
the bad news will go away!

Sorry Katie...it doesn't work that way.

5. Did you watch it?
Hard to believe any evening news would not report such news, even katie. I'm hoping you heard it as a rumor and that it isn't true.

I haven't ever watched her doing the news so can't say she isn't that bad.

12. jbnow, I forced myself to watch her whole pitiful show, and
I didn't hear anything about our soldiers getting killed. It is important to me to hear about our troops. Those are our sons and daughters over there. They are fathers and mothers, husbands and wives. It is very important to me that everything possible is being done to protect them in battle. I'm afraid they are becoming an afterthought. It seems that this administration and the main stream media would just like to forget about them. It seems that they are becoming a nuisance.

May the families of these soldiers find peace.

21. Unreal. I haven't seem much coverage
for some time. Of all people Chris Matthews has been complaining about it off and on for some time, saying sort of what you are. He knows bush wouldn't want it covered but can't figure out the media. He was wondering if they think people are tired of the bad news, don't want to hear about the war but he still can't believe they aren't giving it coverage. The military has to put up with being there. we can put up with hearing about it.

My friend had two little boys that always played soldier and planned to be one when they grew up. They graduated and joined the army, you can't stop them. They were told they wouldn't be deployed to Iraq. The first one is headed over there next week.
It's the first time someone this close to me will be part of it, yet I think of those over there and their family here every day. I try to imagine living there. You grieve it all. My heart aches for my friend, how do people get through it?

I am tired of the war too, I was tired of it before it began. But it is our war. It is our kids, it is being done in our name. We should hear about it every single day.

http://www.kfoxtv.com/news/9994849/detail.html

let's talk about this good news...

"The way these soldiers are coming home, it's sad to say but they're coming home in closed caskets," Locklear said. "And a lot of the American people aren't prepared for this, either way you look at it, and we certainly weren't prepared for a ... it may sound cold ... but a closed casket."

15. Perky sure made it her business to be...
...front and center to do all the pre-invasion cheerleading BushCo could ever ask of a prominent corporate media whore---but report on the rising daily death toll of both Iraqi civilians and U.S. troops resulting from this illegal occupation? Sorry, we got more important things to cover, like shark attacks.
