Google News: AP Dennis Hastert is a Democrat
Edited on Wed Oct-04-06 10:47 PM by cal04

Josh Marshall earlier this morning discovered the AP labeling Foley a Democrat. BradBlog posted the graphic later on, but missed another problem. Dennis Hastert is now a Democrat too. Yes ladies and gentleman–our liberal media working for you!

4. Google has nothing to do with it.
It's the WIRE SERVICES, not Google. Google News is a news aggregator; it returns headlines and snippets of the first sentence/paragraph of news articles posted on news sites. They do NOT control content.

10. Does that mean if he steps down Nancy gets to take over.
With so many Repubs now becoming Dems with the "news" outlets BLESSINGS, then does that mean the Dems have the Majority now. If so then we already have more seats in da house then we knew about. Thank you AP and Faux for pointing this out to us.

There is another thread in GD about Faux News "We Distort and Distract" doing this THREE times. I would think that the FCC would yank their license.

Who knows if we all complain to the FCC perhaps we could help with the downfall of Faux.
Wouldn't that be GREAT?
Especially if it happened about 08.
They might not get to call the election for Jebbie......

The voters in these districts KNOW the TRUTH about which party their representatives belong to and in the long run they are the ones that matter.

In an attempt to manage the electorate's revulsion of Bush and his policies, they label the Chimp as a Democrat to encourage votes for Republican candidates.

12. And yet they are mystified by the rise of the “internets” and blogs.
I no longer partake of any MSM for truth or facts. On the rare occasion that I do, it’s for the amusement that was formerly confined to the likes of The National Inquirer or The Onion. While there is a wink and a nod with these stories, the pseudo-factual reports from MSM are galling.

By no means do I attest that everything one can read on the “internets” is true. However, the “what is now termed as liberal” sites reflect traditional journalistic practices of honest and objective discourse as well as fact checking vs. premeditated lies when it relates to the current party affiliation of Mark Foley.

I guess the obvious facts can be negated by a google search that turns up archived pages. No pun intended.

Everyone email the AP and complain: info@ap.org

While you're at it, email Fox News as well and give'em Hell: Oreilly@foxnews.com

You can also call and cuss Fox News out for their "accidental" party-label-error at: 1-888-369-4762

Again, someone with the ability to create threads, please create a special thread for this please. Let's give'em Hell and end it before gullible voters start blaming Dems.

I was a newspaper editor. I've seen hundreds of AP stories with mistakes — not "Clinton (R) or Gore (R)," but some with other Democrats labeled as Republicans, and vice versa. Nine out of 10 are corrected within a couple of hours, and the other one in the next cycle.

With 15 years' experience at newspapers, I should know it's all a big conspiracy!

I've heard so many stories about AP bureau editors telling reporters, "Make sure you put a right-wing spin on this so we can stop the America-hating liberals." But I never believed them until now.

Thank you for enlightening me.

36. Those were bad reporting
Bad reporting happens. It happened before 9.11, it's happened since and it'll happen again. For you and others to suggest it was all part of some Giant Conspiracy Theory is simply ludicrous, and does liberals little good in the fight for credibility.

As for Gary Condit (one 't' — see, typos happen), sorry, but I no longer have access to any first takes from that era. I have a friend at the Modesto Bee, though; maybe she can accommodate you.

...then I dont read you.

As far as the major impact stories go (Clinton "scandals", WMDS, Saddam Caused 9/11, Swiftboats, etc, etc)- all the media-not just FOX, presented false information in Bush's favor.

I dont see how the other media is different from FOX- they all present the same "WMD", "Terry Schivo" "Bush brings us together" "Micheal Moore & Dan Rather are the real liars" "Swiftboat" bull-shit- it was not just FOX.

Not to mention all the "Clinton caused 9/11" crap- that was not just FOx either.

NO ONE held the editorial or invsetigative position that Bush & Powell, etc were lying while Scott Ritter, Will Pitt & Micheal Moore, etc were closer to the truth if not hitting a BULLS EYE.

No, in fact ALL the major "news" outlets mirrored FOX on that most important, dire issue.

In case you didnt notice, no one trusts you guys anymore-not the people who knew it was lies all along, and most of the people who DID believe all that crap are wise now.

One to many "typos", "Coincidences" and "accidents" or what ever we are calling fake news these days is what did it.

Why the republishing of this? The xml header clearly states that the file was updated September 30, 2006, while the content it displays is relating to an event that took place on Sept. 6th.

Because they dont exist.

In fact, he cant show us any fake news (AKA mere "Poor reporting") that has benefitted DEMS- by mere "coincidence"- fake news always just happens to help Bush or the GOP.

Did you ever see a "typo" that "accidently" labeled Hillary or Bill Clinton, Gary Condit or any other polarizing Democratic figure as a Repub?

No? Neither have I. NEVER.

The Silent Majority
Written by John Foley
Wednesday, 09 August 2006

Congress has a lot of good apples, so why don't they toss out the bad ones?

...

The task would seem to fall to the ten members of the House Ethics Committee, but recent events suggest that they've been away from their phones. The Democrats have railed against the "Culture of Corruption" fostered by the Republican majority, but from whence is this "culture" born?

According to Dr. Saul Faerstein, the psychiatrist who treated convicted Congressman Duke Cunningham (D-CA), lots of things happen to people when they decide to run for office, but for the most part anything predisposing a member to bad behavior has happened well before they start giving stump speeches.
