How many attacks did Al Qaeda have planned after 9/11 ??

After all, we have not been attacked since that fateful day. And we are fighting them over there so we don't have to fight them over here. So they must have had many attacks planned but we have kept them preoccupied in Iraq so they have not been able to attack us. They just haven't had time. Just think of how many attacks Bush and the Republicans have prevented since 9/11? Surely they had declared all-out war and had plans to attack us at least once a week? Don't you think?

2. Nah. Victims of their own success.

Anything they did subsequent to the WTC had to be at least as spectacular or they would be perceived as weakening, losing their touch, becoming ho-hum. Like a Hollywood star, only as good as his last movie, al qaeda is only as good as its last attack.

They wanted to do something showy, that would get everyone's attention. They succeeded. But for an encore? The last thing they want is for Americans to shrug and say, "That's all you've got? Please."
