the democrats are always worse. Just ask Newt http://www.wsbtv.com/news/10004112/detail.html

Their base doesn't care, as shown on NPR this morning in this article about rural voters http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=6200951

That darned liberal media again, right, Newt? You guys aren't responsible or accountable for anything. :sarcasm: The republicans are the party of honor and integrity? My ass! More like the party of on 'em and off 'em and hypocrisy.

edit for spelling

7. Here's Newt's quote
"What we don't have to do is allow our friends on the left to lecture us on morality."

Of course you don't, Newt. It's nothing you could understand, anyway.

5. I heard that NPR report this morning
I was disgusted to hear NPR shilling for the 'pugs.

It was nothing more than an opportunity to broadcast GOP talking points.

I felt like retching.

6. I disagree with your take on the NPR story
After all, the folks in the story were rural midwesterners. As far as I can tell, there is nothing connecting any congressman representing such a district to the current scandals. The closest may be Hastert in Illinois, but even then I don't think his district qualifies as rural, and to my knowledge none of the folks interviewed were from that particular district.

The folks interviewed said the scandal was a failure of the party leadership, not the party as a whole. However, I would expect their tunes would change if further information comes out connecting their own representatives with wrongdoing.

12. Acknowledge
and the poll is unscientific, but their responses follow the standard brain-dead freeper response, it wasn't MY rep, and I've been a republican all my life, this changes nothing. I'm voting republican in November. and that was my point. These brain-dead hypocrites still voted for Bush* in spite of the lies and in direct contradiction of their "moral" stances. If they could actually follow their consciences, but couldn't vote democratic, they'd stay home on Election Day.

And because Reps are "worse" Dems are the victims all of the time.

Note the contradiction with what is supposed to be a values voter's perspective "accept responsibility for your own behavior". "Victims" are not responsible.

This is the moral reasoning of a 6 year old and we should be careful to AVOID it ourselves.

This means that on all moral and ethical issues you BEGIN by recognizing your own culpability, proceed to that of others, and then Progress to proposing a problem solving strategy and behavior that will help BOTH of us.

Is there ANY hope for this level of moral reasoning from Congress any time soon?

14. OK Newt, time to name names ...
And if there are Democrats that are doing worse things than being a child preditor, then they also deserve to be prosecuted for their criminal behavior.

Sorry Newt, consentual sexual relationships don't count, 'cause if it did, you and half of America would be in jail.

Cheers
Drifter
