The sentiment was that Bush cannot free himself from his lies by piling on more lies. He must come clean.

A sense that Keith was speaking DIRECTLY to the president.

That the president has created enemies where there were none, and where there were enemies he ignored them.

And much better stuff that I just don't have braincells enough to remember.

I am not impressed easily. But there were several key statemtents that Keith made that were the kind that shock one in the middle of drinking a beer from a mug. The kind where you are focused on something else, yet suddenly your attention is jerked away from your own control. It was historic.

My husband, the "moderate" liberal in the family who laughs at my consipracy theories and doesn't like to "fight" about politics... I sent him the transcript of Keith's 9/11 comment and we watched it later that night on the web.

That first night, it felt like we were watching history in the making; like it would have felt to be watching Murrow all those years ago; like there were thousands of us watching the same thing, hearing the same words; like we were characters in "V for Vendetta" hearing our own voice for the first time in years.

Since then, he has asked me to Tivo it. Yesterday he came home reminding me that Olbermann had a special commentary tonight and we had to watch it.

Olbermann has given us a voice and with that, he has given us real hope.
