15. I worry about Olbermann staying on the air

Even though he's got their number one show on MSNBC, Donahue also had a top-rated show before he was cut loose. I think it's important for us to be sending our e-mails to management, as the corporate Chimp Fluffers at GE might be getting a bit of pressure to take him off the airwaves, especially with the wonderful and powerful anti-Bush message he had tonight. You can just imagine the phone calls GE and MSNBC are getting from ChimpCo over this.

16. Controversy sells

And right now, they are giving Faux a black eye. I saw him interviewed a few weeks ago on the Today Show (and something else that escapes me now) and he said that they are encouraging him to do it. They know it's a ratings boost and they are cruising with it.

As long as the numbers stay up and he gets more positive mail than negative, he's good to continue.

I'm sure there are many network GM's who would shy away from letting one of their top anchors say the things Keith has said - those GM's would be cowards in doing so.

Mark my words, when the history of this era is written, Keith's bravery, as well as yours, will be noted and inevitably linked with the greatness of such men as Ed Murrow and Fred Friendly.
