I'm calling it like I see it after a bit of due diligence, because you know what? I don't believe absolutely everything I read. I couldn't care less what you think about that.

There's no need for anyone to play fast and loose with facts as far as republican sex scandals go, and that's exactly what armchairsubversive did with at least one of their bullet points. It just so happened it was the first one I checked.

If I'd taken that bullet point and run to the nearest freeper saying, "Look, bushbot! Rummy authorized rape, and here's my proof, courtesy of armchairsubversive's link to dailykos!" I'd look like a bigger fool than you apparently take me for. All because I trusted some jackass with a website who'd actually misrepresented something in a big way.

So I'm not going to waste my time taking the rest of armchairsubversive's comments at face value. In fact, I don't feel like even reading any more of it. If you think that's stupid, that's your perogative. And it's my perogative to think it's stupid to use armchairconservative.com as a source because at least once they so clearly misrepresent what their source says.

If armchairsubversive knew that rummy really authorized rape, I'd have guessed that they'd have linked to a source that said rummy really authrorized rape, instead of one that said nothing of the sort. Call me crazy.

Harsh Questioning for Rumsfeld

Rumsfeld's apology on Friday did not keep lawmakers from harshly questioning him. The defense chief was criticized by Republican John McCain of Arizona for not having answers about "who was in charge of the interrogations" at Abu Ghraib, the prison on the outskirts of Baghdad where the abuse took place.

Rumsfeld said in his opening statement before the Senate Armed Services Committee that "these events occurred on my watch. As secretary of defense, I am accountable for them. I take full responsibility." Insisting that the abuses were at the hands of very few soldiers, Rumsfeld also vowed to bring those guilty to justice and to ensure that such abuses did not happen again.

But Rumsfeld warned the committee that the worst was yet to come. He said he had looked at the full array of unedited photographs of the situation at Abu Ghraib for the first time Thursday night and found them "hard to believe."

"There are other photos that depict incidents of physical violence towards prisoners, acts that can only be described as blatantly sadistic, cruel and inhumane," he said. "... It's going to get a good deal more terrible, I'm afraid."

Rumsfeld did not describe the photos, but U.S. military officials told NBC News that the unreleased images showed U.S. soldiers severely beating an Iraqi prisoner nearly to death, having sex with a female Iraqi female prisoner and "acting inappropriately with a dead body." The officials said there was also a videotape, apparently shot by U.S. personnel, showing Iraqi guards raping young boys.
