Louisiana Recovery Authority New Orleans census says almost 190,000?
I was last in New Orleans in June, there is no way there is 187,525 in Orleans Parish. Why would they make the overestimation?

2. I'm just trying to find out why they would say there are that many

people there. I do not think there is that many people there.

3. Government funding is often based on population
That's a pretty powerful reason to inflate the numbers.

4. I don't think current money from the Feds to NO is going to be based
on population. And certianly not going to change much if they say there is 80,000 100,000 or 125,000 people there.

5. Politics, most likely
They want to look good by pointing to a measure of progress.

"Look at how many have returned!"

so as a good rule of thumb take what Ray says cut it in half and you're around the truth. Unless it's something he wants to be low then double what he says.
