So...NPR plays a clip of Newt blaming the Foley thing on Dems/
Liberals/media "dirty trick" - and there is no Dem response? Since when does NPR report stuff that belongs in the Star or National Enquirer! SHAME on them...

1. I heard that..
... they followed it with a somewhat lame clip of Pelosi calling for investigations but the simple fact is that while Republicans have engaged in dirty tricks consistently for years I don't recall them ever running a Democrat calling them out over it.

NPR sucks cocks in hell, that's all there is to it. Don't give them your money, unless you'd feel equally all right about sending it to FOX.

They're worse, since everyone knows FOX is propaganda, and there are still millions who think NPR isn't.

2. NPR slants guests 4 to 1, GOP to Dem
Don't have a link but yesterday came across a report from a journalism watchdog group spelling out the statistics on NPR since Bush came into office - it's outrageously slanted to the right. And frankly, I'm surprised that it comes as a surprise to you if you have been listening to them. I used to have the local NPR station on constantly in my car - but found myself getting so outraged that now I only listen when that station is playing jazz in the evening, and I quit donating years ago - although for decades I was out raising funds for them. Wish I could get Pacifica Radio here in the east.

3. They have aired some real trash this week.
Used to be they were somewhat liberal, left leaning and corporate free back when they started (when - mid to late 70's or so). They have gradually shifted due to pressure from RW, xtian fundie groups, and corporate sponsorship.

Used to be, they would air a few token wide eyed liberal shows during fund drives. It appears that they have given up almost all pretense of being discerning and NOT being for sale.

They are now officially media whores.

4. The first thing I thought when hearing that...
was "is this news?" Why was NPR reporting on the crap that has-been Gingrich is saying? Can we get some random Democrat on the air at NPR spewing lies about Repukes? I'm sending off an e-mail to NPR telling them what I think.
The more they give airtime to this kind of crap, the less credible they become.

back during the bombing of Baghdad?

7. The More Who Claim This As A "Trick" The Tar Gets Stuck On Them
Fools...

The talking heads are trying to parse again and are caught up in their own spin so deep they have lost the overall view. Who cares if this is a "dirty trick" or it "wasn't fair cause it was released so close to an election" or excuses, the voters still see this as both a Predator loose in the halls of Congress and he was caught with his "IM's" down. Foley has yet to deny the authenticity of these IMs...nor his lawyer, nor anyone except Hannity.

They also see those who try to cover this up or muddle the issue as people who are condoning what Foley did. Either it's from the Pedophile perspective...or in some right wing hives, the Gay perspective. These goons are desperate to find some way/any way to hook a Democrat. If they have to go back to Clinton or the 1980's...hell, the 1850s will work for 'em. They need to try to claim some "moral equivelency" by saying they're not the only slimy ones...then turning around and blaming others for their own trangressions..."the devil made 'em do it".

I hope this stuff keeps playing up until election day cause every "Soccer mom" whose listening is getting madder and madder.

8. I heard that and Newt is done too...
The more the GOP squeals foul the more the American people will be repulsed by them.

Foley was preying on teenage boys. Hastert stupidly covered it up. The story was broke by a republican and fueled the boys themselves and a tittilation based media and public.

They are so done.

9. Another whiney "blame the media" thread
Edited on Fri Oct-06-06 07:58 AM by Buzz Clik
If your leaders don't provide leadership, don't vote for them. Quit blaming others for YOUR inaction.

10. The response for the Dems in these situations should be so easy!
"If you aren't hiding anything, you don't have to worry about anything being exposed."

"If you had told the truth to begin with, you wouldn't have to worry about us telling it now."

"If you had done the right thing to begin with, you wouldn't have to worry about explaining it now."

This administrations obsession with being secretive is coming back to bite them in the ass and they have the nerve to complain about it? PPPAAAHHH!!!!! Call 'em on it.

11. "What we don't have to do is allow our friends on the left to lecture us
on morality," former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, R-Ga., said at a party fundraiser in South Carolina. "There's a certain stench of hypocrisy."

12. Thanks for the backup...
I was jumped yesterday when I mentioned NPR was the first source to play
the "Clinton Card" in the flailing-for-blame game in the VRWNM.

Hey, it's a fact... I heard it there.
