CNN just reported Nancy Pelosi did not stop the Freeh Probe

I don't understand?

CNN reported that Pelosi's office told CNN they didn't intervene and do what you have to do!

Please say this isn't so. How could she let this happen?

We need to express our concerns over Freeh's "appointment" to the Foley investigation.....

1. Nancy neither approved or disapproved of Freeh ...

Ole Denny called her and pompously DECLARED that "We're going to assign Louie Freeh to oversee the FBI investigation." Nancy Pelosi SHUT HIM DOWN by saying, "Wait! We need to discuss this further and agree how to proceed. The FBI can do the initial work, we don't need to assign someone NOW."

The above or words to that effect is what people are saying that Pelosi was blind sighted by all the Republican Bluster and told them to "Slow down and include the Democrats" in their future decisions.

CNN the most trusted name in news. Yeah what ever. I generally quite watching corporate news, except for Olbermann.
So, naturally I needed to come here to find out the truth.

Well I certainly hope that she doesn't allow Freeh to be in charge of anything related to this investigation.

The GOP seems to want to continue on the partisanship train.

Isn't that why the Dems didn't know anything about this scandal?
If the GOP were so concerned with the children they would want to give the appearance of non partisanship?

Perhaps I will give Pelosi's office a call and voice my concerns.....

3. Yes, let's support her? However, I get the impression that Pelosi

would not accept having a partisan such as Louie "I hate Clinton" Freeh as the person to oversee this FBI investigation.

Remember that what we often Bitch about Pelosi is her STRENGTH for us now. She is a consummate mediator. If she were not a Congresswoman, Nancy would make an outstanding diplomat. The worst that the republicans can say about her is that she's a Liberal from San Francisco. Those characteristics are becoming less of a liability as the false mask of "Republican Family Value" is being ripped off.

Nope, I think she KNEW that she could slow down Denny's frenzied call to have Republicans mostly investigate themselves so she just said, "We need to talk."

I don't have near the measured responses that is Pelosi's style, but I admire her for it, especially now.

4. Pelosi definitely could use our support

Considering the noise machine making FALSE CLAIMS about this whole sordid affair, from Faux News calling Foley a Democrat to the AP calling Hastert a Democrat, it shows the desperatation of the media as well as the GOP.

It's amazing to me that there is still this one sided Corporate News mentality. But I have grown to accept it for what it is, a bunch of people more concerned about their profit shares than reporting the facts or the truth...

Nancy is a powerful lady.

The fact that she maintains her femininity while leading really drives the Right Wing crazy.

Because I'm much more straight forward and, at times, even brusque :blush:, I admire the fact that she is one SUBTLE and STABLE force in the Democratic Leadership, i.e., people often admire personality characteristics they do NOT have. In my next life it would be fun to be diplomatic in temperament. :P
