4. At this point, 16-20 seems the most likely option...
giving the Dems control of the House by 2 or 3 seats

5. The deck is stacked . . .

They'll Diebold enough key races to hold both houses. My only hope is that they'll miscalculate and jigger 5-10 races and then find out that the electorate really wants to toss 40-45, so end up losing anyway.

In the Senate, though, we're screwed. I live in Maryland, and I'd bet cold hard cash that Steele (now down 8-10 points) is going to pull out a "miracle" finish by 2 points or so. If fact, I think we're going to see a lot of electoral miracles come November 8.

8. Exactly! Someone tell me how are they going to stop the repugs Diebold
Edited on Fri Oct-06-06 12:29 PM by GreenTea
machines, how...the republicans are not going to let the Dem's under ANY circumstances come away with the majority...They will steal votes that are needed...Over 80% of the country vote with these machines...even if a landslide of Dem's come out, the republicans will still steal it...They are fucked if they don't. And what in the fuck do they have to lose? Nothing, only gain.

They've been stealing races out in the open and obvious as can be since the 2000 election, now they are perfecting it...

The media ignores it and will ignore it again...Dem's will scream, the republicans will say bullshit, sour grapes and the republican will be sworn in & take their seats as always and it'll be too late...

Then after they steal the seats for a majority when it's too late it will come out...too late Bush has his republican congress for another two years.

Republican are going to go all out with their Diebold machines, even stealing races that are obvious, THEY HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE...they will get away with it. they always do, nothing ever happens, no way to prove it the EASILY HACKABLE HAVE SPOKEN.

Perhaps the ONLY good that will come of it is it will be exposed but too late Bush will have his congress...but for 2008 and things will get done...The Dem's unfortunately will come up just short because of the hacking this time...because not enough people yet believe the republicans can do it...still they don't believe it.

The republicans have nothing to lose by stealing it though we still MUST vote...Just tell me what the repugs have to lose?

If they don't steal it their gone...if they do steal it they are in...no corporate media will question it until perhaps month's down the line...after we've been screaming for month's...Too late...Bush's fascism will take even more of a hold!

9. However, if they genuinely think they have nothing to lose . . .
History will most certainly prove them wrong. A government like ours only works based on the "consent of the governed." Every time they steal an election they subvert that will and store up reserves of bad karma. When the levee breaks -- and it certainly will -- they will be drowned.

Of course, America and the world may be wrecked by then, so this is hardly an omen of hope for the rest of us.

If they overplay their hand this time (or 2008, etc.), the level of anger is going to be uncalculably high. High enough for insurrection? I don't know. But I do know that the anger at Republican arrogance, incompetence, and unfairness is growing every day, and they will have to take the consequences when the time comes.

10. 26. And the other races will be significantly closer than in past years.
Dean is running more of a 50-state Democratic presence than any in recent memory, and Dems nationally should profit.

I think Nov. 7th is going to be a big blue night and a great night to be a Democrat.

11. This place is in constant despair mode
Who benefits from us all being completely convinced that the election will be stolen, and not really doing anything about it? Particularly if the election isn't as stolen as we all are sure it is?
