Health Care Industry sole source of jobs
I posted this a couple of weeks ago, but in light of today's jobs hoopla, it's worth posting again. For all the people who can't find jobs, this is the reason why.

"Since 2001, the health-care industry has added 1.7 million jobs. The rest of the private sector? None "

1. Hiring in healthcare is going to be massive for the next generation
This is also one (certainly not the only) reason healthcare costs are growing so much faster than the rate of inflation.

2. There's no other job growth
Which is the point. Nobody is telling workers that there's no real hope in any other industry.

health care....in essence service sector jobs. Since manufacturing is basically being outsourced, the trade balance will continue to get worse.

5. That's the shame of it..

They go around ballyhooing the jobs "created"...the ones that are non-union (for the most part)..the ones that are basically shift-work, low paying...and they act like it's a such a great thing.

It's great that jobs are being created, BUT what's not being said is that most of the health care jobs are not "family-supporting" jobs..

if jobs were broken into segments, and reported fairly, people would be shocked..

Jobs should be :

minimum-$10

$11- $20

$21-up

If they showed stats like that, people would have their eyes opened

6. A quick glance at the classifieds every day has confirmed this for ages
Most job postings are for healthcare positions, throw in a few driver jobs, maybe a telemarketing or two -- other jobs are few and far between.
