There is only ONE REASON why Hasturd said 'the buck stops here':
so it could be used as a soundbite. Same goes for 'I take full responsibility' of the Foley scandal. I just heard on CNN Headline News those exact soundbites - with no mention of the backpedaling and contradictions.

KKKarl's hand, I'm sure.

4. Hastert, et al are delusional . . .
Edited on Fri Oct-06-06 03:13 PM by MrModerate
if they think anyone other than their more slavish supporters buy this bullshit. One might say they're in a "state of denial." 'Lican lies have certainly degraded the truth of late, but not lowered people's IQ. Hastert just ups his hypocrite quotient with sentient observers.

Even the craven media doesn't believe this tripe -- they just parrot it out of what they regard as professional necessity.

8. "Buck Stops Here" so Nobody Else can Get a Look at What it Is
Also, that is another way of telling us all, "Nobody else is going to get jurisdiction and investigate this thing independantly; I am the law and the censor. I am 'handling' it." Bastard didn't even give credit by name to Harry Truman, a really honest politician.

I been working for John since the beginning Hastert is a jerk using tax payers money for land deals. Taken 1000.00 day fishing trip paid for by oil companies. This guy is the poster boy for the Replugs.

10. Could it be
they are going to toss Hastert out to the wolves, in hopes the people will believe they nipped this, and it will blow over.

Can they be setting up Hastert with a fall, THE BUCK STOPS HERE, I TAKE FULL RESPONSIBITY. Making him the scapegoat. Is Hastert willing? He may be getting the advice to make a strong stand, it will help the polls, all the while, placing in the people's mind, IT WAS HIS FAULT.

Since we know that repukes never say anything without having dissected its every meaning, I would bet you're right.
