2. he's just kissing the audience's ass in this clip
I bet half his audience is incapable of critical thinking. Half of them are mindless consumers. Half of them are obedient workers. At least.

5. Don't get me wrong, I like Carlin
but that clip just seems really hollow.

People attacking others for the same shit that they do themselves.

And I can't stand Miller, believe me.

6. I don't think Carlin really cares anymore
He seemed rather pissed that people elected Bush...twice. I think that really downgraded Joe American in the eyes of Carlin. If he rants, he rants, but I doubt he thinks anybody is listening, since it's apparent few were listening to anything but sports and sex scandals.

7. OK, so Carlin's as cynical as I am
I imagine he's got a lot of company out there, mostly boomers who worked hard to end a war, end institutionalized racism and sexism, and have had shit shoveled into their faces for the last 40 years by conservative pigs.

10. Boomers, don't give up: Carlin is right
Warpy, NO: don't give up the fight. What you need guys to do is advise Generation X'ers like myself how to start another Sixties revolution and motivate the next generation to join, so we can all turn this country back around. If you're down for it, comment me at my site, and I'll send you my email address. Target date for the revolution is summer 2007.

Yes, I am serious.

11. A sixties revolution would be fine.
But it would be better if it ended like the forties 'revolution'.With the perpetrators eating lead or hanging from a gallows pole.

12. I'm fine with a Nuremberg-style ending
I just hope the country will be able to endure the trials without calls from more conservative quarters for secession or dissolution of the Union. Actually, I wouldn't really mind that happening as long as it's done without a civil war.

Also, I want Guantanamo turned into a memorial for all to see and remember. I want nothing down there to be changed; it should remain frozen in time as a stark reminder, a monument of what authoritarianism can do. If, God-forbid, Bush builds several camps to crush dissidents, then I want those camps turned into memorials as well.

8. One of my favorite Carlin rants!
I also love the one where he suggests we replace our nation's golf courses with homeless shelters.

15. I just installed Firefox the other night and I am enjoying it.
Ever since Apple changed their QuickTime from 6 to 7, they eliminated the ability to save .mov files. Now one must purchase QuickTime Pro, but this Firefox extension will get around that. Thanks for the link to the extension. :hi:
