Is the Florida GOP Imploding?
GOP Darling Charlie Crist is suddenly afraid to be seen with Children. WTF? He is acting terrified of debating Jim Davis, his Democratic opponent, and notwithstanding the constant barrage of television ads, is nowhere to be seen!

Ginny Brown-Waite has decided to do a 180 on Iraq, and admits she knew Foley was gay - giggles about it even - all despite her long history (and voting record) of being a homophobe. And a little bird told me she was decimated in her debate last night.

Dolled-up nutjob Katherine Harris has sunk to questioning Bill Nelson's religious convictions.

And yet another Dem leads in a tired of being Red district. K-K-K-Katie's old seat!!

Here's hoping for a blue, blue November in the Sunshine State!

9. that's more than anyone should have to bear
really, I think there should be a rule, that a member of the president's immediate
family should not run for President.

14. and at the very least
the state that gives a pResident the election shouldn't be run by his freaking brother....can you imagine if the situation was reversed in 2000 and Al Gore's brother ran the state that happen to be the one to give him the election - the freepers would have been running through the streets wildly and the Gore administration would have been one long investigation after the other.....

18. I think that this was manipulated from day one
Edited on Sat Oct-07-06 10:58 AM by MissWaverly
I just don't think that this is ever going to happen again but I think there should be a law
about immediate family members of a president running for office.

4. It's my opinion that Florida.......
has been a "blue" state for quite some time. Jeb Bush and Katherine Harris did their damnedest to purge as many Democratic voters as they could, myriad dirty tricks on election days (few voting machines in Democratic strongholds, butterfly ballots, physical intimidation etc.) and Republican friendly Diebold voting machines all took a hell of a toll on the Democratic vote. I think Florida has always leaned "blue" in a FAIR election. Of course, we know that if there's one thing Republicans hate, it's a fair election.

7. Blue November. That calls for a song.
I'm dreaming of a blue November,
just like the ones we used to know
with Democrats winning
and rethugs sinning
and impeachment really set to go...

10. The panhandle Evangelicals will be turing blue - they swing back & forth
They voted for Carter and other Dems and sort of go back and forth.

17. They are more likely to vote Constitution Party than Democratic Party. --
A lot has changed in their minds since Carter. They really do hate Democrats. Thank their ministers, Fox, and Rush. You'd be surprised how many of the Evangelicals here are actually registered Dems. but would never, ever vote for a Democrat. They hang on to their old, racist ways which keep them from changing party affiliation to Republican (Lincoln-haters) while always voting for Republicans!

15. Candidates who are ahead are usually afraid of debating. They usually
have little to gain and much to lose, unless they are obviously much smarter, better looking, and more well spoken than the competition.

In any case, he has the support of a lot of "moderate" dems.

20. Crist is a piece of shit. He's been running smear ads for weeks now.
Most of the ads have picked on Davis for pointing out how ridiculous Crist's property tax bandaid proposal is. Yesterday, I saw a Davis ad that said Crist has had 8 years to fix property taxes and has done NOTHING. It cracked me up.

21. Nelson Will Win In A Walk
It looks like the Pugs will win all the Cabinet seats...

I don't see any congressional seats but Foley's flipping.

Crist should beat Davis despite his "alleged" "secret" unless his campaign implodes.

The Dems should be more competitive in a state where they have a registration advantage albeit a slim one.

I miss the days of Democtatic governors like Rubin Askew, Bob Graham, and Lawton Chiles.

22. They have stopped playing Crist advertisements in North Florida
This past week I have not seen one Crist ad since the Foley debacle. One of the biggest ads he was running here was protecting the children of Florida from Sexual predators. Now it is gone.

Now I don't watch much local tv, but prior to this week, during the morning local news, I would see 3-4 ads for him. Nothing, nada, zip.
