Someone yesterday apparently took offense at a bumpersticker I've had on my car for over a year & ripped it off car! If I weren't so damn mad about it, I'd enjoy the irony of a "Christian" violating one of the Commandments they so love to shove down everyone's throats: "Thou shalt not steal."

On the bright side, I can now go & get something even more offensive than that & piss them off again! :evilgrin: But I'm still pissed that they stole something off my car.

That you can take it off and throw it in your trunk when you park. You have to realize that republicans aren't going to think twice about stealing or vandalizing your car if your political views don't jive with theirs.

We recently moved to a community that traditionally votes Republican (though I note that Democratic registrations are increasing). I was heartened when I went to the local market and I saw quite a number of progressive bumper stickers and a car that looks very like yours. It must belong to an employee of the market or CVS next door -- it's always in the parking lot.

That way you never get them peeled, and this stickers stay new.

I make my own now. I use transparent film so I can actually stick them on the inside of my rear window. Plus... pealing off of glass is cleaner and easier than a bumper.

I worry about that kind of thing all the time, since I may live in a blue state, but in a really red district. I was even self conscious about my driving, before the 2004 election, afraid that somebody would get pissed off at me and take it out on John Kerry...:eyes:

My friend nearly got run off the road, just north of here, by some guy in a pickup truck that told him to get out of "his" country...:scared::grr:

And the congressional race is really bitter up here in Northern NY. For the first time in years, Dems have a really qualified and viable candidate, taking on the Freeper who the local paper said could probably have the job for life, if he wanted it... But, for the first time, he has real competition. My house mate went to Dem headquarters to get a lawn sign and they had only one left. I said that I thought that this was good news, that she had that much support, and he told me that the reason was that they kept being stolen.:-(

It happens to all of us. I'm just glad that they didn't hurt your car. Actually, I wish that somebody would steal my DU sticker, since it's so battered that it's practically unreadable and I keep meaning to replace it. I have several in my trunk, LOL, but I don't know if I can get if off...:shrug:
