Thousands of NC'linians Spend 2nd Night in Shelters/Massive Chem Fire!
The Company Responsible has stepped up to pay for Resident's to pay for costs in Motel/Hotel Rooms and other costs.

Company Spokesperson is now on saying that he's not heard of any other problems with the Company...and they've had inspections up-to-date...Nothing to See Here...Move Along...and we will PAY YOU OFF!

Here's a link to the Raleigh "News & Observer" as to the BIG PROBLEMS with this MASSIVE CHEMICAL EXPLOSION!

Their "PR Person" left much to be desired from his Presentation.

Link:

Chemicals still unidentified | Fewer than 30 patients treated | EQ facility had been warned
Callers overwhelm 911 center | Some Wake schools close | Scene from Apex | Games postponed
Unclear when residents will be allowed to return

Latest news: Fire crews hoped to have the fire out this evening using a dry flame retardant material. But after getting a closer look at the building, officials say it will likely be 6 a.m. before the fire is out, said Mayor Keith Weatherly. | Full Story

1. Thanks for posting this.
I actually was in the ER last night in Chapel Hill when the story first broke. Staff started running around trying to free beds, create a decontamination area, etc... in case the apex ppl were brought over to UNC hospitals. After all that work, I don't think they wound up with a single Apex person...

2. UPDATE! Our News Channels: ANIMALS WELCOMED AT SHELTERS!
This is such a GOOD THING! That down here in NC our Police aren't turning back our families with ANIMALS!

ANIMALS ARE WELCOMED...What a great step forward for Disaster Shelters!

Such a good thing....

3. I was just about to ask about the critters..
California realized long ago that pets must be provided for if you want mass-compliance.

5. It's really good. Local News Channels showed hamsters, kitties and
doggies in these shelters. Until the BushFascist "Health and Human Services" joins with Bushfascist "EPA" to declare pets a "Health Hazard in Shelters" (which we KNOW they will do) it's good to see that folks forced to evacuate with moments notice managed to take their pets with them.

Sad, though that those who chose to leave "night roaming pets" couldn't get them in, in time to evacuate and those folks can't get back to them because of the "Evacuation Rules" to give them food or water until they can return to their homes, though. :-(
