It reminds me of America's inflated opinion of Soviet military strength during the Cold War. I remember reading a book that debunked the myth of Soviet military strength in the early 80's. It was called "Ten Feet Tall".

Rove didn't kill the Fortunate Son author - he just cobbled together enough circumstantial evidence to force the courts to consider a third felony charge against the guy for credit card fraud or something like that.
