Mark Foley Is A Good Metaphor For The Republican Party
Selfish.

Congenitally dishonest.

Corrupt.

Only concerned with self gratification.

Abuser of power.

Deceitful and two faced.

Irresponsible with his moral duty to society.

No wonder this scandal finally resonates with people.

Mark Foley is the perfect metaphor for everything the Republicans have been doing to the country for 6 long years and every way they've been doing it.

1. Does being an accomplished one-handed speed typist count?
He is a sick SOB, isn't he? But it fits the RW mold.

2. Opportunistic.
Randi Rhodes says he started out as a Democrat who became a Republican because they provided more of a support network.

5. That would be part of it. The RNC turns "a blind eye"
to anything that it could later use (as blackmail) to keep a member in line on the issues and votes. With enough such members on the $ugar tit and not being confronted about their extra-curricular activities, they'd eventually develop a whole self-supporting sub-community of perverts of various types.

I was suggesting "Opportunistic" because his party affiliation, like that of other Repuglicans, is apparently more about what the GOP can do for him rather than the issues and real values. That would be one thing that IS an occupational hazzard in being part of such a $ucce$$ful political party, compared to being a member of a le$$ successful political party like the Dems. All of that Repuglican money and power attracts people who aren't strong; they're choice is more about political convenience than it is about real values.

3. It's time to "exFoleyate" the Republicans.
I think I've just come up with my new bumpersticker.

6. A fox guarding the henhouse
just like all the other people from affected industries put in charge of regulation, except this time it was a pedophile in charge of missing & exploited children. Typical, though.
