CNN is beginning the election chaos set-up. We won't know who won.
They're prepping us, getting us softened up. Bill Schneider (who had just done a segment on how utterly terrible the Republicans were doing in every poll, every race) followed up with a segment about how totally messed up the new electronic voting machines are, and posited that the race could go 50/50, and that Joe Lieberman could decide who has the majority, and that the results will be so messed up that we won't know for days who has actually one. I guess that should give the tabulators plenty of time to sort out the "winners" while Karl comes up with some remotely plausible scenerios.

People, get ready. There's a train wreck a'comin!

1. The MSM doesn't have to "set up" the train wreck . . .
The fact that the nation's voting systems are seriously compromised is Real.Live.News.

Seems like you setting up our excuses for losing. Don't be mad, just a comment. :)

:eyes:

I'm not mad, except for at US for allowing it to go this far without taking it to the streets.

And for the record, here is my "official" prediction; They (yes, those "They") will allow us to take the house. The big, nationally watched races with wide margins will probably go to Dems, but there will be just enough "surprise" come-from-behind miracle victories in lesser races that will keep the balance tight. In the Senate, miracles will happen also but we won't quite make it. We'll be two seats short, and Bush's grip on power is maintained, as the GOP will still be able to block anything once the Dem-controlled House send it up.

When trillions of dollars and world domination are at stake (not to mention possible prison time), men do amazing things. These people aren't done, and they have no intention of handing over power. No excuses. No mad. Just being realistic.

Obviously, I hope I am very, very wrong.

5. CNN does seem to be ahead of the curve
when it comes to getting the GOP's messages out. They're a fairly accurate bellwether these days. Its difficult to imagine any other reason why they would be pushing this message, particularly when Dem margins of victory are widening.

I've been waiting for them to come out with some sort of election meme, though I admit I thought it would be "the elections will be very close".

6. Watch the repukes start calling for investigating the "voting machines"
after 11/7 ... and watch enough "hot spots" (strangely far less in number than what we have about 2000, 2002, and 2004 each!) show up where "inaccuracies" in the results come out in races where a Dem won ... and suddenly, there will be calls for real elections ...

7. I agree completely
The machines can be programmed either way, not just for the GOP. I can definitely see a few races wherein Democrats win surprising, against-the-polls victories, and the GOP starts screaming for investigations. They'll then find John Kerry's passport lying conveniently inside one of the machines, and claim the races were stolen by the left.

8. Expect the Repugs to challenge the results anywhere they lose
Unlike the DEMS, they will go to court with frivolous lawsuits and will do everything they can to prevent the certification of election results.

Open your eyes folks. Why do you think Lou Dobbs is so interested in Diebold? It's a set up.

The DEMS need to and will win by large enough margins that the Repugs won't be able to legally challenge the results, but that won't stop them from trying.

9. Interesting how elections became such a problem with the arrival
of Bush and Rove.

10. What's amazing is how the Right can't see any connection
Just purely coincidentally, EVERY election since Bush has been a) royally fucked up, and b) won by the GOP. Top it all off with the fact that since Bush, exit polls are never right any more, unless you're in a different country, then we use them as proof of fraud. But the Bushies just whistle and sing a happy tune and say we're paranoid. Easy to think that way when the lying keeps getting you what you want, I suppose.
