ACTION ALERT: Tucker video will drive wedge between GOP elite and fundies
Edited on Tue Oct-10-06 12:19 PM by blm
Spread this video and its transcript posted in GD-P around to all RW forums and religious sites. If you have RW religious family and friends on your email list, send it to them.

Tucker reveals that EVERY GOP elite he has grown up with and knows well has CONTEMPT for the religious base voters.

This can spread - and I would bet it becomes a bigger issue.

1. I doubt it.
They are said to have blind faith for a reason.

7. Of course I understand what goes on - but peel a few percent more away
with this video, and help PREVENT more from joining the cult ranks.

11. A lot of them are actually fairly liberal
They have some hot-button issues that the Repukes have pushed, but they're not all stupid, blind bigots. I've been working for Tammy Duckworth here in Illinois, and several fundie types I spoke to while canvassing said her opponent calling her a "cut and run Democrat" (she lost her legs in Iraq) was "DISGUSTING, typical of the way the Republicans are going." Not all will vote Dem, but many will just stay home and say the hell with it.

5. I agree with you. One thing the religious right is really good at doing
is making excuses for Republican politicians, and projecting blame and anger that should be directed at Republicans toward Dems instead.

3. holy S***ballz! A Righty pundit that thinks for himself?
My mouth just about hit the floor when I saw that on Sunday.

It really is over for them, however, let's not celebrate yet. The celebration will be November 8th.

4. Knowing that the GOP elite knowingly have gay staff will do the job better
in my opinion.

8. Remember, our point is Rep hypocrisy, not the existence of gays in gov't
Always flog that point, not that there are gay staffers.

9. There are several points to be made, and not all by us.
Frankly, I think the fundies knowing their "leaders" are talking out of both sides of their mouth is useful.

10. Tucker's changing a lot
First, he's gotten rid of that stupid bow tie. He's lost the GOP black, greasy hair in favor of a lighter and longer cut. He's put on a few pounds. It all looks much better on him than the original.

Best of all, he's smart enough to sense a change in the prevailing wind.

He's capable of decent reporting. A few of his segments on his short lived PBS show were quite good. He's just spouted the right line because that's how he got work and that's how he's gotten paid.

Don't expect a complete conversion to the truth, however, until the wingnuts are completely out of power.

15. I'm not admiring Tucker in the least, but USING the opportunity presented
to drive a further wedge between the elite fascists of the GOP and the religious voters they hold in contempt.
