However, right now it's very hard to be accurate or comprehensive. Here in KS e.g. before this year there were a lot of counties that used paper and only about 3 used DREs. Now there are about 25 that use the DREs (and just a couple of those have a paper trail). I have no idea what the real figures are about all this. If you go to the SoS's web site, the list of counties has not been updated, at least last time I checked, so the only way you could find out might be to call each county elections office and find out. Another problem of having pols in office who are not accountable anymore is that you tend to get incompetents or lackeys and even the people are competent, the new HAVA requirements are so complicated and confusing that it's hard for them to figure out what can or can't be done and they don't have time or money anymore to spend on simple lists or such. Everything is about 2 years behind.
You can try VoteTrust or VotersUnite web site or one of the many others. There's probably somebody trying to do this, but don't expect the elected officials to have a handle on it. And even if you read a web site like the one in KS, you should not trust it unless you yourself have done the research. The web sites of government orgs now are mostly window dressing.
