I miss Bill Clinton
and I don't think I appreciated how good he was at foreign policy until doofus became king. I can't believe our country is contemplating war on so many fronts, and that the infantile Bush decided at every turn to do the opposite of whatever Clinton did.

The opposite of extremely smart is extremely stupid.

1. Many of us took him for granted
but compared to the hero of the religiously insane in this country Big Dog is a freaking GOD! Intelligent, articulate, willing to chat with those who disagree, willing to negotiate. bush is sadly a joke and will go down in history as a disaster ten times the Titanic.

2. I never thought I'd miss him...
...a little too free market for my tastes, but damn if I didn't jump up and scream and cry like a groupie when I saw him on the screen at the Wellstone memorial service.

3. I thought he was great at foreign policy...
No other president ever got as close as he did to Middle East peace. He knew we had to talk to people we didn't like.

bush is a spoiled brat who was so jealous of Clinton that he intentionally worked at undoing everything Clinton accomplished.

6. this regime did dismantle everything Clinton did in 2000.
as soon as they entered the WH, a very dark chapter opened up.

8. the qualities that made him a little too centrist
also made him a fantastic negotiator... and made people hate him out of sheer jealousy. Most effective president of my lifetime, that's for sure. Bush would have done well to have opened up communication with past presidents, even his father was better.

9. Where Bush engages in name calling
Clinton actually got right to the heart of things. People respected us because of him.

10. We don't need Bill Clinton
Edited on Tue Oct-10-06 01:48 PM by Rosemary2205
Bill, for all his attributes, cannot run again. IMHO we'd be so much better off giving our kudos to Democrats with the charisma, intelligence and good political sense to take the helm for 8 years. We have them, but too many times we are too busy "missing Bill" to see them.

Edit - I did not mean that Clinton should not have any role in politics or within the Democrat party. Of course he should. I just meant when we are discussing presidential candidates moving on is more productive than looking back. IMHO. Just MHO.

11. I miss him often but I disagree with you. I think it is GOOD for us
to be reminded of the right thing to do, particularly with regard to foreign policy and with domestic policies such as FEMA administration. It reminds us again and again what we really SHOULD have, instead of what we've got, and what we need to get next time!

12. Many of us are able to walk and chew gum at the same time...
We can give our kudos to the Big Dog and still admire and applaud those with the same attributes.

He's easy to miss considering the jackass we've got in office now.

16. Mainly because of Bill Clinton himself. Imagine
the 2000 campaign without the shadow of the Clinton scandals.
No "restoring honor and dignity" nosense for sure. Bush couldn't have run on anything.

14. And who mentioned presidential candidates in the OP, anyway?
Edited on Tue Oct-10-06 05:11 PM by mcscajun
It's okay to miss Bill Clinton, just because we miss him.

Doesn't mean we want (unrealistically) him to run again.

Like others, I didn't always appreciate him while he was here, but oh, to travel back to 1992 and have it all again. :sigh:
