Parsons Corp.'s "shoddy" Iraq work ($2Billion in federal contracts)
Let me get this straight...they have gotten 2 billion dollars worth of OUR tax money and no one, not even the feds or watchdog groups, has ever seen their financial records..even after reports of crappy work?

(long article)
http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/I/IRAQ_RECONSTRUCTION_PARSONS?SITE=TXSAE&SECTION=BUSINESS&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT&CTIME=2006-10-10-12-46-27

For years, Parsons Corp. has profited from a steady stream of U.S. government contracts for everything from disposing of hazardous weapons material to rebuilding hospitals, highways and other big-ticket infrastructure.

As a private company, Parsons does not release financial figures and is not followed closely by Wall Street analysts. In addition, it's not tracked by the watchdog group Project On Government Oversight, which investigates waste and fraud.

But shoddy work recently prompted the U.S. Corps of Engineers to cancel its $75 million contract to renovate a critical police training academy in Baghdad. Parsons also lost deals to build a prison and dozens of medical clinics in that country after the government cited missed deadlines and cost problems.

<snip>

Last week, Parsons received yet another government contract - a five-year, $15 million deal from the Naval Facilities Engineering Command to provide master planning for Navy and Marine Corps facilities in much of the world.

2. Parsons was mentioned in the film Iraq for Sale
I believe it was in a list of contractors in Iraq, but was not covered extensively like Halliburton or Titan, but they are probably pretty much alike.

Remember the scene in Fahrenheit 911 where the speaker was urging the audience to get in line for contracts and not miss out on the wonderful (obscene) profit to be made from the coming war? This is where it led to.

If you haven't yet seen Iraq for Sale you should try to do so. It has been shown in quite a few places in the last couple of weeks. To find or host a screening or buy the DVD, to here:

3. Parsons' was to have built 142 clinics in Iraq; probably won't build 20
And managed to pocket about $200 million. Details here:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/04/02/AR2006040201209.html

And the Army Corps of Engineers recently announced, with great fanfare, a new plan for 142 clinics in Iraq, at a cost of $185 million, with no mention of the $200 million they already pissed away on Parsons:

http://www.tmcnet.com/usubmit/-iraqis-receive-142-healthcare-clinics-says-us-army-/2006/09/08/1873677.htm

Of course, our vigilant mainstream media has been ALL OVER THIS, right? No, they haven't...
