Has * gone totally insane now???
New national space policy released

snip

Elsewhere, the document notes that the US must not only have the ability to freely access space and stop those who would deny the US that right, the US must be able to "deny, if necessary, adversaries the use of space capabilities hostile to U.S. national interests" — an opening for the development and use of weapons in space, although that's not explicitly stated in the document.

6. Its true
We've has all the space weapon tech we've needed since the 1970s.
You can effectively kill a spacecraft by spraying it with black paint or even just strewing gravel in its path.
The other space faring nations will not tolerate orbital weapons, and even the most retarded neocon knows it.
What Corporations want is an endless fountain of cash with no real need to produce results.

8. nah, that would make too much sense
we could also really invest in our schools, from elementary to college. We could do so much more with that kind of money but what we'll really get is a bunch of fat politicians telling us how much safer we are being protected from space terrorists...
