Bill Kristol on Fox News predicting Republicans WILL LOSE!
Tom Delay yesterday was looking like he was about to shit his pants. Now Bill Kristol has reversed himself, is admitting that they'll probably lose, and said that it'll probably "get worse" by the election unless some major event changes things, and said that the "bottom" could "fall out" and they could lose as many as 40 seats to the Dems.

1. maybe he's being honest, but I wonder if they're all talking about
losing in hopes of getting their base voters out.

3. Ah, Bill Kristol, always dreaming of the next Pearl Harbor.
Most people dream of salvation from some sort of knight dressed in white armor. But Kristol, wow, he's just not an ordinary thinker. With brains like his he should be in charge of some lunatic right wing organization seeking global hegemony.

4. And in other, unrelated, news, Bill Kristol is leaving Faux News
... to, eh, "spend more time with his family," yeah. His as yet unnamed replacement will be a brainless Bush-bot. A lack-of-talent search is now underway.

13. I couldn't call it a talent search and still exhibit truthiness, could I?
:hi:

5. It's a ploy. When so many republicans and their pundits
are predicting their demise without intellectual disagreement or a challenge, something's wrong. They are doing a sleight of hand and getting us distracted with what the right hand is doing when we should be watching the left. The formula is pure Rove. When are we going to stop falling for it?

7. The funny thing is, saying that the Democrats are sure to win
...is designed to suppress turnout on BOTH sides. It demoralizes the Republicans, and makes the Democrats overconfident.

SO, we have to REDOUBLE our GOTV effort. Work hard. Put up more signs, hand out more material, and lots of block-walking and door knocking on Election Day.

6. I think it's a ploy--down play things to make it seem better than it
is and/or to rouse their base to get out and vote.

8. Like estimating a $600bn deficit and claiming a victory with
a $550bn deficit.

10. He's trying to scare up a turn-out.
Another indication the 'gay bashing' isn't working.

14. He said essentially the same thing months ago on The Daily Show,
He seemed to be looking forward to losing in fact. His rational involved a Dem congress being so obstructionist that Republicans would come back in '08 with a sweep. Whatever lets him sleep at night.
