Rep. Boehner:"We ought to be very happy that George Bush is our president"

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,222148,00.html

<snip>

CAVUTO: You say support the president, or these days, given the polls, run away from him?

BOEHNER: No. We ought to be very happy that George Bush is our president.

You think about what he has dealt with over the last five-and-a-half years, a recession he inherited the day he took office, the attacks of 9/11, and what it did to America’s psyche, what it did to our economy, our need for more intelligence, homeland security, a war in Afghanistan, a war in Iraq, and, on top of all of that, the largest natural disaster to ever hit our country, and, through all of this, the president remained tall, strong, and positive.

I have known George Bush a long time. I have watched him in some of the most difficult circumstances, always doing what he thought was in the best interests of our country...

14. Completely Wrong!
First, there was no period of negative growth, so even by conventional measures there was no recession.

What the conventionalists did was re-interpret their own rules and saw that two straight quarters showed LOWER growth (but positive) then prior quarters. So, they called it a "recession" because it conveniently fit their supply-side dynamic.

However, when examining those last two quarters of 2000, what one finds is: Two quarters still in the upper quintile of the past 100 quarters, or 25 years. So, the 2 of the weakest quarters of the Clinton era, are still in the best 20 quarters of the prior 25 years. In fact, 18 of the best 20 quarters for an indexed value measuring Real GDP Growth, Employment Level, Total Inflation, and savings growth, occurred during the Clinton era.

The math doesn't lie. They, however, do. Over and over and over and over and. . .
The Professor

22. Only by repetition can a lie become the accepted truth

This is what they do on every subject, all the time.

But they are very good at it, getting their talking points memo out, staying on the same PAGE.

They are sick, evil people.

7. Christ Boehner - what are you doing in those pictures rove has?
Your chat about recession is a lie. Wars in Afghanistan and Iraq?? Who the fucks fault is that. 9-11 - bush let it happen, he wanted an attack so you could proclaim him a war president. He didn't cause katrina but he sat by and let the federal government fuck the cleanup mightily.

Oh I'm just so fucking happy the lying, drug abusing, insider trading, corporate criminal, military deserter is our president. That last sentence is what you call the truth if any lurkers are checking in.

10. The US wasn't in a recession when he became president
and what of his response to 9/11? He was crippled for several minutes reading "My Pet Goat" and then didn't go to NYC for several days after that. He pulled our resources from Afghanistan and the hunt for Bin Laden to settle an old family feud in Iraq. He squandered the biggest surplus in history and has given our children the biggest deficits. And what about that largest natural disaster in history? He fiddled with his dick while people died for days in New Orleons.

23. ought
We ought to but we aren't. See it's your fault. Probably because the problems the country face are mostly of the Presidents own doings such as : the recession, the ignoring of intelligence, war, and a natural disaster that pointed out how horrible homeland security is.
