Canadian citizen still on U.S.A watch list although he's been cleared.

For those of you who have heard of the case of Maher Arar, who was detained in New York, and sent to Syria to be imprisoned and tortured for a year, I'm sure you will be disgusted to learn that the U.S.A. government has still not taken Mr. Arar off the list. He is afraid to travel to Washington to get the Letelier-Moffitt Human Rights Award being awarded him.

According to Vanessa Redgrave, "His fears are entirely founded … because his name is still on all those lists that compel border police or immigration officials or homeland security officials to pick him or his wife up."

<snip>
Academy Award-winning actress and activist Vanessa Redgrave will present the Letelier-Moffitt Human Rights Award to Arar, who will appear at the ceremony via video link.

1. I would certainly warn anyone you love
to stay the hell away from this country. It's not worth the risk when you can be imprisoned without charges or a public trial based on the say so of one man.

I didn't even mention the torture bit-you know as long as they don't kill, rape or mutilate you it's NOT torture!
