It's a sign of just how heated the Corker-Ford Senate race has become.
Now, the Bob Corker Campaign is trying to railroad a television spot produced by the candidate's own party. You can watch the ad here and read statements from both the Corker camp and the Ford camp below.
The ad is unabashedly critical of Democrat Harold Ford Jr., and features an actress pretending to be a playboy bunny, encouraging Ford to "call me."Press Release:
Corker Campaign Calls on RNC to Pull New TV Ad
Nashville, TN - The Bob Corker for U.S. Senate campaign today denounced a new Republican National Committee ad that began airing today which, the campaign says, is "over the top, tacky and is not reflective of the kind of campaign we are running."
"The new RNC ad we have just seen on our local broadcast outlets is tacky, over the top and is not reflective of the kind of campaign we are running," said Tom Ingram, campaign chairman for the Corker campaign. "While we cannot legally communicate directly with the RNC regarding ads of this nature, we can certainly do so through the media."
Last week, Ingram blasted WHIN radio, in Gallatin, TN, for airing an "offensive, reprehensible advertisement attacking Harold Ford." That ad was pulled.
Ingram stated today that, "Bob Corker believes this new ad has no place in this, or any other campaign."

CORKER OUT OF IDEAS, OUT OF STEP, OUT OF TIME
STATEMENT OF FORD CAMPAIGN SENIOR ADVISER TOM LEE REGARDING THE RNC/CORKER ATTACK AD
ON HAROLD FORD JR.
"Only a campaign that is out of ideas, out of step, and out of time runs an ad like this. Given Bob Corker's plummeting polls, no one was surprised to see it, and that includes Bob Corker.
"Where was Bob Corker's indignation when editorial boards and fact-checkers were finding his negative ads to be false for months? Where was his outrage when an outside 527 group came in this week with more lies against Harold Ford? Only after the polls showed he'd aired an ad that hurt him, did he try to climb out of the gutter and feign the high road.
"The true standards of the Corker campaign are well established by now. And no Friday afternoon press release will change that."
