he was on c-span's Wash. Journal this morning pushing his new book, which says america has always been quick to go to war from the very beginning. and that's alright by him. that we should build up our military and go to war in more places. really! he said that. he wants a draft but wants it called national service, where everyone is required to serve the country in some way.

he thinks much more troops should go to Iraq to finish them off.

he thinks europe will soon become muslim to the detriment of the world.

he thinks it's alright for america to be an empire and we have the right to interfere with other countries.

HE SAID MOST AMERICANS FEEL THAT WAY AND HAVE FELT THAT WAY EVER SINCE AMERICA WAS FOUNDED.

I think he was paid by the neo cons to write this propaganda and paid to be on Wash. Journal.

I think he stinks.

Maher: And finally, new rule in two parts: (A) You can't call yourself a think tank if all your ideas are stupid; and (B) If you're someone from one of these think tanks that dreamed up the Iraq War and who predicted that we'd be greeted as liberators, and that we wouldn't need a lot of troops, and that Iraqi oil would pay for the war, that the WMD's would be found, that the looting wasn't problematic, that the mission was accomplished, that the insurgency was in its last throes, that things would get better after the people voted, after the government was formed, after we got Saddam, after we got his kids, after we got Zarqawi, and that whole bloody mess wouldn't turn into a civil war, you have to stop making predictions.

Robert Kagan is a senior associate of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and a co-founder of the Project for the New American Century (PNAC) and was one of the signers of the January 26, 1998, PNAC letter sent to President William Jefferson Clinton.
