The Cardinals won and suppan blew on the mound
Even though the Cardinals were victorious (Go Cards!), jeff suppan got racked for 3 earned runs in 6 innings of work. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!

5. This thread is about stem cells? There's nada in the OP to indicate that.

7. It's implied :)
http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/story/465442p-391651c.html

ST. LOUIS - Cardinals pitcher Jeff Suppan is appearing in a Missouri TV ad trying to thwart a state amendment involving stem-cell research. The ad counters one taped by actor Michael J. Fox advocating passage.

"Amendment 2 claims it bans human cloning, but in the 2,000 words you don't read, it makes cloning a constitutional right," Suppan says in the commercial. "Don't be deceived."

Asked if he objected to players making political statements, St.Louis manager Tony La Russa said: "Actually, our organization encourages guys to get involved in something beyond just baseball. Whether you agree with the choice or whatever, I just like the fact that guys make a commitment and they get involved."

4. The reply had more to do with Suppan
and his appearance in the last minute anti-stem cell ad the Repugs hacked up than the game.
Full disclosure: I'm a pathetic Royals fan. Suppan pitched for them, too. And Mike Sweeney also appeared in the ad.
Go Tigers! (I'm an AL guy.)

2. Yeah, it was kind of the best possible outcome for us Cards fans,
wasn't it?

It ain't over 'til it's over, though. Tomorrow's gonna be tough.

6. That's what I thought
Suppan got his karmic comeuppance and the Cards still won. :D

8. i'm a diehard met fan
i now have even more reasons to hate jeff suppan and the cardinals than i did right after the nlcs. jeff suppan seems to have forgotten that he used to be a middle-of-the-rotation guy for the friggin' royals. maybe he got some "strength and conditioning" tips from roger clemens.

the cardinals blew a 3-1 series lead against the aforementioned royals back in the '85 ws, and they did it again in the '96 nlcs to the since-deposed-but-still-evil braves. here's hoping for another choke job.
