Time for a Smile

These days are tense in the world of politics. Even bloggers feel the need to unwind and find something to smile and laugh over. There are just so many races, polls, and stories that need coverage and only 24 hours in a day.

The following did it for me! This is my smile for the day.

Senator Rick Santorum went dark today in Pennsylvania. His television ads ended as of last night. Unless he buys his own time, and pays for it with his own campaign cash, he is without TV time in the last phase of the election. The national GOP dropped him, and independent issue groups left him too since his chances of winning are over. The Senator is starting to know what it feels like to lose. I wonder if he thought about this day when he was trying to dumb down our schools by teaching creationism, or smearing gay families when all they wanted was fairness.

After already spending $9 million on his race he is so far back in the polls no one wants to come near him.

It is amazing how justice can produce a smile. I know I am not alone today.

3. God, what it must feel like to piss away $9 mil on NOTHING!

NINE MILLION DOLLARS. Trying to win a job with a $150,000 salary. If that doesn't tell you who much corruption and graft is going on DC, nothing will. No one would "invest" $9 mil if they didn't expect a decent ROI.

Nine million dollars worth of WASTED OPPORTUNITIES to really and truly help people. If any of these people were serious about their love of "public service," they'd just plain help people and not wade into the cesspool of corruption that is Congress.

4. You should see his latest ad...

He is in a ring with a bunch of stupid looking wrestlers, talking about how he has worked with Democrats to make things better. One of the wrestlers comes after him and santorum knocks him out with a punch. It is the most ridiculous and desperate ad yet, almost as bad as putting his poor children in an ad saying how wonderful their father is.
