Activism: Something new I thought of doing . . .

I have this old land-line phone number that I keep for faxes but don't answer the phone calls on it, because they're almost never anything but people trying to sell me stuff.

My recently un-employed (Again!) son was home the other day and he answered it and handed it to me - someone selling something again - I was polite, and told them I'd like to consider their offer, but my husband just lost his job AGAIN (which is also TRUE). He was out of work for almost 4 years the first time, and he was on this "new" job only 2 years before it was taken away. I could hear the worry in the callers voice when he responded to what I told him.

I have decided to answer my old land-line phone from now until November 7 and tell all of the commercial callers what's going on in the job market.

1. Good. Get the word of mouth out there

that the customer base is drying up. That is a excellent tactic. That kind of news will filter up from the low ranks on the phones.
