2. Thank you Brad!
hopefully they will not get away with it this time. The key will be the polling right before the election and the turnout.

5. I'm going to take election day off and try to bring a camera too...
Edited on Fri Oct-27-06 06:08 PM by calipendence
But the question is, what should be our protocol in trying to film this event. We don't want to get kicked out, and I want to respect voters' rights to privacy when they don't want to have themselves filmed voting. On the other hand, it would be nice perhaps to have buttons perhaps that we could put up on Cafepress.com now for every videographer on election day to wear that says "Ask me if you would like me to film you vote!" or something to that effect, so that we can get more people give their consent to actually document their process of voting to help us be more apt to document these sort of things when it happens. Any ideas out there? I'll put up a cafepress.com site for t-shirts or buttons if someone feels this might be useful and enough of us go to polls to video what's going on.

Might also be helpful if we have an online guide to videographers that describes what sort of things we should focus on filming that lawyers can use, etc. when we do film people voting too that could help things be more admissable in court.

6. Before anyone posts here
...saying this means nothing more than "gloom and doom" I would ask you to stop and think for one moment.

If it sounds to you like "doom and gloom" ask yourself: Why? What is it about the messed up machines that makes you think "doom and gloom"?

Is it because they stole the 2000 and 2004 elections? Is it because the computerized vote grabbers are going to count nearly 80% of the vote?

Of course the answer is yes. So what can you do to stop it? Get smart and be ready. Read up on the type of voting machine that will grab your vote and be ready to fight the mistakes that will become evident on the days after Nov. 7.

9. I WANT U.N. OVERSIGHT OF THE ELECTIONS!!
Damn it, this is now a third world country. We need oversight, because the corrupt assholes in power want to be dictators. They'll do anything, ANYTHING to win.
