Murtha: ‘There Is No Question’ The U.S. Military Is Turning Against The Iraq War

Today on CBS’s Face the Nation, host Bob Schieffer said, “We keep hearing from people who say the American military is turning against the war.” Rep. John Murtha (D-PA) responded, “There is no question about it.” Watch it:

1. Who let the cat out of the bag? The Republicans have no plan.

Murtha is right. The military is a hierarchal, rules-based organization. If the people on the field don't know what they're doing goal-wise, it's because the head of the higher-level organizations don't know what they're doing. And if the head of the military doesn't know what it's doing, it's because the so-called commander in chief hasn't got a clue.

That's my take on it, anyway. Veterans and military experts feel free to correct me.

2. And why wouldn't the military turn
against a war based on lies from the bushitistas and no plans from rummy for after the bombs and the ground war began or was that where the "flower petals" were suppose show up?

Jack Murtha is a true hero because he spoke out when others were still pussyfootin' around.

3. Well, I can tell ya why they WOULD
Bush has a few bad habits that are unrelated to his gross stupidity. He shoots messengers, he takes the glory that rightfully belongs to others, and he foists off blame that should be on his shoulders onto those of subordinates.

In essence, he's a scumbag, and they've figured it out at long last. That AWOL bullshit in his Guard years should have provided the essential clue, but better late than never, I suppose.

Rick Shinseki, hell, he was a Democrat, so that could have been a one-off. But over time the wee cowboy's shown all too much enthusiasm for fucking people over and not listening to them, and ensuring that his staff ORDERS THEM not to talk about specific issues...like say, troop strength, timelines, or oopsie, let's call them 'benchmarks.'

your typical imperious, supercilious, pompous, sociopathic neoCon who's been callin' the shots in America the last 6 years.

Good analysis, MADem!
