Richard Mellon Scaife + Joe LIEberman = Malignancy eroding America
Edited on Sun Oct-29-06 08:46 PM by understandinglife
May be the best money yet Richard Mellon Scaife has spent to tear the party into pieces.

Ask the Clintons why they aren't busting their butts for the Democratic Party candidate in CT - Ned Lamont?

Ask the most special and audacious one, B Obama, why he's not busting his butt (instead of hustling his book) for the Democratic Party candidate in CT - Ned Lamont?

Ask every Beltway Dem why they aren't all in CT supporting the Democratic Party candidate - Ned Lamont?

We the People ..." WILL NOT FORGET.

All you Scaife- and Kovner-loving Dems have got 9 days to ensure that Ned Lamont is the next Democratic Senator from CT.

Got it?

Never Forget: George W. Bush willfully violated National Security to cover-up his willful launch of a war of aggression and illegal occupation of Iraq.... and, if you doubt it, just check 'the google' ...

on the campaign trail.

2. No one has seen him in CT ... don't they have any book stores good enough for him ...
... in New Haven or some other CT college town?

He, Hilary, and many other Beltway Dems will prove exactly whom they are by their presence or absence in CT in the next 9 days.

It's just that elementary.

3. He was here

and I have seen several pictures of him in many other states campaigning. In fact, I was surprised to see him on Oprah as I had seen him doing so many campaign appearances.

5. I am specifically stating that Obama, Hilary, and others, have NOT gone ...
... to CT and campaigned for Ned Lamont.

He won the primary.

LIEberman lost.

The fact that LIEberman persisted should have been more than enough reason for EVERY current Democratic Party member in the 109th US Senate to appear IN CT, with Ned Lamont and support him.

9 days and counting.

We will not forget.

Thank you for your comments and, as an aside, I was thrilled to see Sen. Obama supporting Darcy Burner in WA State.

4. They've Also Been Raising Money
For the first time in many years, I saw more Democratic spots on the Football game today...and just read where more money is being thrown into local races in the closing days. 6 months ago, had someone mentioned here that the Democrats would be competitive in over 50 races and had a chance to win more than half of them, I'd have been laughed off of DU. Now, we have the problem of having to match dollar for dollar a well grease Repugnican machine and how do you think we're getting the money?

I still hold out hope that the Clintons may make a last minute trip to Connecticut, just like they did for Joementum in the primaries. I would think a Lamont/Clinton rally next weekend would be worth a couple of points...but we'll see if that happens. Both Clinton and Obama have made some big appearances in the past week on behalf of Tammy Duckworth that helped raise the cash to finance the GOTV push...and I know they've done that in districts around the country.

Sorry, it's not my job to ensure Ned Lamont is elected...that's the job of the people of Connecticut. If, after all that been exposed about LIEberman that the people there still think he's worth electing, we have to deal with the cards were dealt. This campaign has gotten more exposure than any other in the country and while I'd relish seeing Lieberman go down, if the money is better spent in Missouri or Colorado or Florida or wherever that can seal a house seat, I'd rather see it go there.

6. Excellent comments. I just think that every Dem candidate would benefit significantly ...
... if the Clintons, Obama, Feingold, and many other highly visible Dems went to CT during these next 9 days and said "We stand by the duly elected DEMOCRATIC PARTY CANDIDATE FOR US SENATOR FROM CT - Ned Lamont.

We all know how significant that would be.

We all know how motivating it would be.

Solidarity means something and it's never been more critical to our Republic since the Civil War.

Thank you.

Peace.

9. In_deed. If anything should induce B Clinton to be GOTV'ing for Ned 24/7 the next 9 days ....
Edited on Sun Oct-29-06 09:41 PM by understandinglife
... it's Scaife bankrolling LIEberman ... don't ya' thunk

For those who need to know why, just use 'the google' and insert "Arkansas project, Bill Clinton, Lewinsky, Scaife, ..." right, my friend :hi:

8. One would think....
the Clintons would frown upon Lieberman accepting money from Scaife. I hope other bloggers make this issue the big deal that it is....like, yesterday. I also hope Lamont is savvy enough to make a new campaign ad, pronto, and point out that Lieberman is a Scaife funded Senator.

10. "..Lamont is savvy enough to make a new campaign ad, pronto, and point out that Lieberman is a ...
.... Scaife funded Senator."

One would hope that ad is already in the works. And, maybe some folk should do 'the google' on LIEberman and Bruce Kovner and dig a little bit into that connection.

Hint:

<clip>

The next day, members of the conference went to Capitol Hill to lobby for AIPAC's top legislative priority—the Palestinian Anti-Terrorism Act of 2006. Drafted with AIPAC's help following Hamas's recent electoral victory, the bill placed so many restrictions on aid to, and contacts with, the Palestinian Authority that even the Israeli government, seeking more flexibility, had expressed some unease about it.<2> Already, though, the bill had more than two hundred sponsors in the House; now, to press the point, supporters of AIPAC held meetings in more than 450 congressional offices. At dinner that night, AIPAC Executive Director Howard Kohr, as he does each year, read the "roll call" of dignitaries in attendance. It included a majority of the Senate, a quarter of the House, more than fifty ambassadors, and dozens of administration officials. Reciting the names took twenty-seven minutes in all, with each name greeted by a roar, the loudest going to Joe Lieberman.

<clip>

Pipes is also an adjunct scholar at the Washington Institute as well as a columnist for The Jerusalem Post, whose editorial page editor, Saul Singer, is a neoconservative and is married to Wendy Singer Senor, who runs AIPAC's Jerusalem office. She is the sister of Dan Senor, who was Paul Bremer's chief spokesman at the Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq.

Pipes is also a regular contributor to The New York Sun, which is co-owned by Bruce Kovner, a hedge fund manager who ranked ninety-third on Forbes magazine's list of the 400 richest Americans and who is the chairman of the American Enterprise Institute's board of trustees, and by the money manager Roger Hertog, who is a trustee of both AEI and the Washington Institute for Near East Policy and who is a co-owner (along with former hedge fund manager Michael Steinhardt) of The New Republic. That magazine's editor in chief, Martin Peretz, another co-owner, also sits on the Washington Institute's board of advisers. One wonders if Kovner and Hertog approve of the ugliness of the Sun's campaign against Mearsheimer and Walt.

13. It is OUR PARTY. They're just guest functionaries. They can leave
and go straight to bed, no story, no warm milk...if they continue to misbehave like this.

No more bull shit. No more LIEbermans.

People who don't support him are really sad excuses for politicians. The meaning of PARTY is LOYALTY.

How loyal is this to CONNECTICUT DEMOCRATS.

Here's what Jane Hampshire says at Firedoglake Blog:

it's very clear that the Democratic Party leadership is rotten to the core. With the EXCEPTION of John Kerry and Wes Clark, no high profile Democrats have been there for Lamont.

I'm a Democrat. I have some say in this because my vote counts as much as those people who are not doing their jobs as Democratic leaders. I vote for them to shape up and get their asses to Connecticut, right now.
