I am your Imaginary friend
Edited on Mon Oct-30-06 01:46 AM by The Straight Story
So listen to this video, no need to even watch it. And think about what our fellow countrymen/women are enduring under bush.

Sure - it may seem to be 'pro-america' and war, etc, but just listen. Close your eyes, and hear it.

This is what we face, what we must stop, for our fine military folk who bush and crew put in harm's way.

Few videos/songs make me cry, this one did.

And don't bitch to me about the second half of this song, which is 'Courtesy of the red white and blue', because when I listen to it I hear a truth - one which has been perverted and used by the right but to me tells me of the bravery and dedication of our troops - who, right now, need a real president and congress to stand by them.

I love that song, as it is a rallying cry to me to stand up and fight up this administration. I don't care how the right uses it, I use it to get me going and wanting to rally around the flag and REAL Americans.

So close your eyes, and listen. And see where we are and where we can be, if we all stand up and fight. Shame on me for not doing more, but I am getting more educated and more fired up each day as I hear things like this.

America is worth fighting for - but the war is not abroad, it is here, and the terrorists are not in some far away land, they are here.

1. It's a Saddam = 9/11 video. I support the troops. I don't support the war.
It's the opposite for the Repugs in Washington.

Sorry, this video doesn't make me cry. It makes me angry. What a waste. What a lie. What a quagmire. Bring them the hell home. Stop glorifying war and bragging about how America attacked an unarmed nation. Where's the glory in that?

3. Pretty much my thinking, which is why it made me cry
what a damned waste of a war this is. How many little girls like mine now to go to bed each night wishing their daddy was home with them.

It all just sucks. And for what????

6. Nah, don't be sorry. It moved you.
I don't automatically glorify all things military just because we're all 'supposed' to. A video that makes it seem cool and justified to be all trigger happy and bomb the Iraqi people's country to smithereens is, I think, off the mark, and can incite and justify unimagninable horrors. I think it's propaganda, and detrimental to our nation's soul. It directs our anger and frustration at everything but the right target.

I am appalled for our troops who went over there thinking they were avenging 911. I hate the way our gov't treats our troops and our veterans. I can't stand what we've done to the Iraqi people. That's what makes me cry. Not a sappy video that will amplify the call for more death and destruction to avenge — what exactly?

7. "...thinking they were avenging 911."
That's not thinking. That's reacting - out of fear, I believe. Cultivated fear, a Republican trademark.
