So now we can't find all these weapons we just gave away to Iraqis...
Edited on Mon Oct-30-06 09:47 AM by Atman
Combine this with the overall "blunders" of this war, and I'm beginning to think they weren't blunders at all. After all, no one seemed to think it should have been difficult to take over a country in such disarray as Iraq. But then, if it really had been a "cake walk," we'd have had no reason to remain as a protection/occupying force for Halliburton and KBR's massive embassy project.

So, the first thing we do is fire the entire Iraqi army and let the go into the night. Then, apparently, we supply over half a million weapons to them, with no attempt made to record serial numbers or even track who got them. Over 14,000 military weapons, from guns to rocket launchers, are completely and totally missing with no idea who got them.

It looks as if we deliberately created an armed an "insurgency" just so we'd have an "enemy" to fight and a reason to stay in-country. Does this sound totally nuts? Has my skepticism and cynicism finally got the better of me? I just don't understand what kind of army goes into a country and gives away weapons to the other side, and lets all their soldiers go off into the night instead of trying to conscript them, constrain them, something other than simply arming them and saying "Ta ta! Have a nice life!" As with just about everything else involving BushCo, something isn't adding up here.

1. We couldn't find all the WMDs we gave them either!
Ask Rummy what happened to them. He was Reagan's special envoy to Saddam during the Iran/Iraq war.

2. Wonder if Paraguay has had any 'packages' delivered recently?
Like someone who may be outfitting his own 'private' army? Just a thought. It's my Monday tinfoil hat. It fits real tight the beginning of the week ;)

3. Did anybody check if they're with the U.N.-sealed chem weapons
that the armed forces discovered (seals intact) that they were told to ignore and leave the door open?

If you find them, you might find the missing weapons ...

4. It happens all the time. Remember, Saddam used to be the good guy...
sort of like Musharaff (Pakistan) was the bad guy until needed for the Iraq invasion. Saddam was the good guy when the Shah was kicked out of Iran and they changed from being the bad guys to the good guys. And Osama, he was good, now bad. I don't understand why the administrations can not figure out that there are no good guys, no bad guys, and that everyone is out for their own selves. I don't understand why THIS administration thinks most of the time. Arrogance? Stupidity? A deeper game than I can figure out?

8. Let's Send All The Soon-To-Be Unemployed Congresscritters To Get Them
Aren't all these goons claiming to be "defending America" and trying to prevent the violence from over there from getting over here? I'd be very happy to see First Pvt. Rick Santorum along with a squadron including Conrad Burns, Thomas Reynolds, Chris Shays and George Felix Allen...patriots all. And for logistical support, there's Joe LIEberman who we can send over there and guilt them into giving the weapons back.

:sarcasm:
